PTR 2.6.8 🙏

I hope you will reset the leaderboard before PTR start

Can I ask why? Jutfnkouhgg

Sure will.

PTR Non-Seasonal Leaderboards else are carried over. Therefore, they are flooded with tons of old builds at high paragon levels and among already 1000 highscores per class/party bracket, it will be hard to find data to compare new specs and how they compete at the current state.

Example: Crusader boards would be flooded with AoV Heaven’s Fury PRE STUTTERSTEP NERF (and also: Pre Shield of Fury Nerf).

Neither you, nor anyone else could find data how people are doing after changes/buffs/nerfs from the current PTR are applied.
People would have to post their new highscores, builds etc. on forum posts here, reddit, everywhere to compare.

A simple Leaderboard reset though fixes that.

Thank you for that. That’s a really good reason.

PTR always starts fresh with LB. And after any tweeks.

It’s PTR, it means nothing. Jesus, get a life, people.

What time PTR started?

2/6 late afternoon PST time usually

Don’t underestimate the fun of PTR competition.

Think the most interesting competition I have experienced in D3 was the first 1+ week PTR some patches ago. Fair and self found-ish, as all players were around paragon 1000 and there was an unwritten agreement to not use augments (though 2-3 players ended up augmenting after the first week).

Perfect for players who don’t enjoy endless paragon grind for 3 months. Maximum skill test. You might even say that PTR players are the ones who actually have a life.

Could you possibly start providing PTR start times for US and EU regions? Not the “late afternoon” crap, but actual times? Or are you not aware when you are going to start the PTR until the very last minute?

PTR has never start at the same times i seen 9 AM in the morning and 7 PM there time (west coast time)

So it all over the place …

The question was not when the PTR started earlier, but when it started today. And only Blizzard can answer this question, which is why Blizzard was asked this question and not you.

They never give start times for PTR. Just figure 5 p.m. PST as a target, give or take a couple hours or minutes.

And it’s a question they’ve never given an answer to, so good luck with that.

The reset is not about “being able to score high @empty leaderboards”.

The purpose is:

“Free the slots from un-nerfed clearing times, remove placeholding highscores”

“Gathered data in the current PTR build alone”

“Leaderboard data to compare without previous patch builds highscores”

“An easy tool for people on PTR to compare builds among each other - adjusting the own build to increase the own potential, thus handing out more valid data”

So your own argument actually advocates us. You claim PTR being pointless. So, the time people are willing to invest on it instead of live servers… would be overly wasted.

To get asap: As many data as wanted/required, to test as much as possible in the given time.
Simply by saving up long research time.

No testing, no changes/fixes and/or further class tuning.

=> Have fun with repeatedly changes on liveservers, required Leaderboard resets there over and over due to bug abusing specs/items/mechanics/…

Leaderboards has always been more or less a cheat sheet // place to check out if some new outlining setup has been discovered. Not much else. Even when getting a pretty high clearing. “YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! Aight, toilet break, then more grinding” … and rarely (if even just ever at all) this highscore will be remembered.

LB reset = Added filtering option for unimportant data (old patch builds). Cause, Leaderboards are lacking that pretty hard. Filters.

Like said, Aegis of Valor for crusaders is one of the best examples why such a reset is helpful.
Ofc everyone gonna be clearing lower GRs than currently. But the last PTR available was still with infinite stacking “Shield of Fury” and without the newly added animation cancelling through Force-Movement-Hotkey.

No reset would result in: Among 1000 Crusader Highscores, 87 are with all upcoming changes. And then a quiz master jumps out straight out of the cupboard: “MIGHT YOU GUESS WHICH CLEARS ARE THE NEW ONES?”

It’s easy to tell and check which are new, which aren’t. Doesn’t mean you get a quick overlook when desired. It only takes quite some time to manually pick out a number of specs out of 1000.

Else I start to argue that people who flush the toilet when done should get a life. It’s just urine, it’s nothing. Even after five times in a row.

What the about ns leaderboards after new patch ? As i expect, nerff bazooka nerf crus, it will killing leaderboard on no season, if you are not going close this era and start new. Please confirm that for no season players. We dont want waiting next 6-10month for that… i hope you will reset leaderboard after nerf bazooka and bk crus.
