Hi, my brother and I have recently gotten Diablo III Eternal Edition on PS4 but are unable to join a party together. We get the error “There was a problem joining the game” with whatever we try. We are able to play other games in co-op together, like Borderlands 2.
We have both started non-seasonal campaigns and keep getting the non descript error “There was a problem joining the game”
I play on Xbox One and it usually works. However, I am also having this problem now. I first ran into this on 10/31 after it working fine on 10/28. It currently does not allow me to join a game or let someone else join my game.
This problem has plagued the game since time immemorial on PS4.
Truth be told, I don’t think it’s the game’s fault. I don’t think I had to open up any ports on my connection’s router. You could try some basic testing, but you’ll need a PC for this. Stuff like ping, traceroute and telnet.
You may both need to raise a ticket with your respective ISPs, but they’ll want you to do the aforementioned testing first before they’ll proceed. Depending upon the ISP, they may assist and instruct you with the testing - not all techs are created equal…
