PS4. Main user has PSPlus..how to play online with family members?

I haven’t played in a while. I subscribe to psplus on the main ID. My daughter has a PSN ID and is an authorized family account member. It wont let us play together online because she isn’t also PSPlus subscribed…always worked before…has this changed?

Is your psn the main account on the PS4? Like under the settings as main?

yes. I log in game first. My daughter logs in and I try to set network settings as Open to public, and it says all members must have online capabilities.

I mean, under settings, under account management, there’s an option to make my ps4 primary. if your ps4 is your primary ps4, under your account, then you shouldn’t have no issue with anybody sharing your PS+

that could be the issue.

I’m still having this issue. I’m the primary account on ps4. My daughters account is under the family setting. She still cannot log on when I set it to open network. Says all users must be signed in to online services. We can only play LAN.

How to set up Family Sharing on PlayStation 4

  1. On your PS4, sign in with the account which has the PlayStation Plus subscription.
  2. Open your Settings .
  3. Navigate to the PSN menu.
  4. Select Activate as Your Primary PS4 .

I live in Sussex and my little brother lives in Las Vegas, we sometimes fire up our spouses accounts (after our accounts are loaded) and bring them in as a tag along characters. I know the feature works, I’ve used it often on the ps4. (then all “4” of use play over the playstation network as a team)

Trick might be to be in the game and press the other controller and select the other profile and enter the game (at least thats the steps i use)

I am not sure if you ever found your answer.

Depending on your daughters age, PSN restricts online play to the age of the account.
My son can play Minecraft and fall guys for example, but not fortnite and in extension a game like diablo as the age rating on the game is too high.

Even if your daughter had a full subscription to ps+ PSN would not allow her to play the game online if she isn’t old enough, you can bypass offline play but this doesn’t help with online
