Newish player here, i’ve been enjoying the diablo aoe simulator. But i’ve hit a wall at GR 125 and i believe im at a point of just waiting for anchient pieces to drop so i can augment.
Is there anything im missing or do i really just wait and farm potentially endlessly for the anchient/primal drops? My paragons probably a bit low but i can pump that up with a 4man group farming 110-120s. Paragon 1418 and i’ve only seen 2 useless primal drops which i salvaged to upgrade my weapon to primal
My alter is also stuck waiting for an anchient puzzle ring to sacrifice. This has kind of takin the wind out of my sails as most groups want to sit and farm 100s which is mind numbing for where im at

GR125 with no augments is very respectable imho. Most players group up and just endlessly run GRs for more legendary drops. It’s basic maths - the more legendary drops, the more chances of primals dropping. If you do a GR110 4 man group every 2 minutes, that’s 30 per minute, for ~300 legendary items. Play for 4 hours and you should get ~2 primals drop. A serious group will do this day in, day out and get ~14 primals drop per week. Over the course of a 4 months season, that’s 224 primals. A great chance of getting a useful primal for your build.
For now, I’d just build up your paragon, farm GRs for more Forgotten souls, farm more bounty caches and start reforging for better gear. RNG is RNG though, so you’ll most likely get crap.
Best way to get that ancient puzzle ring is to reforge One. 1 in 10 chance, but RNG can be a nasty thing. I had the same problems with my HC character on Tuesday - ended up reforging. I didn’t want to waste mats, but it let me progress on my altar. Now all I need is 2 more primals to drop so I can salvage them for the required mats for the 3rd potion. Then hello double primals!!!
I’m yet to really push with my HC character - have done a GR110 in 9 minutes @ p730 - 1 ancient item, no augments, and most stuff not rolled really well. And this was before some upgrades on the altar that would have added to DPS (50% to bosses, extra orb etc). I’m now speed farming GR105s in 2-3 minutes. My SC character has done a GR128 so far (at p800ish, 3 augments, 5 ancients) with 8 minutes to spare. Bad map and mobs too, so could and should have been quicker. I have since gotten all ancients and all augments and now p1400ish but have been too lazy to push. Kind of lose motiviation when there’s so much cheating going on on the LBs 
Something Blizzard hasn’t even addressed, let alone fixed. They just don’t care.
