I have lost 95% of my gameprogress after the game update upon closure of Season 21, lost more than 8 heroes and more than 4 years of game progress! Thank you Blizzard for throwing away my gane progress, it is the last time I will play Diablo, if this is not resolved! No proper advice for this, no clues, only pointing the finger to Sony!!
Make sure you are logged into the correct region (not the PTR or Europe/Asia/NA depending which is your main region.
To my unserstanding you do not explicitly log into a region, only in the multiplayer part, is that what you mean. or are there other settings in Diablo that I have missed?
Sorry - I overlooked that you are on console. I’m not sure what the log in process is. On PC we have a battle net launcher, and on that we select the region we log in to. If you choose the wrong region, it would appear to you that all your progress was lost.
I saw that in the PC discussions, but the console is different, I am now looking for other “victims” with this bug…The problem with consoles is that you are between 2 parties (Blizzard and Sony) point to each other!
I wish you luck.
Try making your post in the technical support or console bug forums. Be clear & specific as to what exactly happened and when the problem started.
It is a known XB1 issue…saves and content within saves seem to get deleted.
So, saves and more than 4 years of progress in the bin, just like that…? Is this also the case for PSN?
No, it doesn’t happen on PS4 and on PS4 we have the ability to manually upload/download saves from our PS4 to the PS+ Cloud.
As I understand XB1 whilst it too has cloud saves you have no ability to manually trigger uploads or downloads thus your save you have with missing stuff may be the same version of your save on the Live Cloud service.
This is just a general answer that the whole world knows, I need proper help from somebody who knows the code! The game or Blizzard has somehow destroyed my progress. If a patch leads to loss of savedata, then the problem is in the st*pid code, right, help help
Go look at how many blue community members have replied in the Console section, then review how many have replied to this issue in the many posts that detail similar issue you have had and then slowly realize you will never get the answer you want as they simply do not communicate much on here and will say it is an XB1 issue so log a call with Microsoft.
The general answer I gave, sadly, is all you are going to get.
So Blizzard sells console games without ANY proper support…? I tend to share your conclusion and, therefore, feel r*bbed. As a gamer on a console with a third party game, you always draw the shortest straw! The sad thing is that Diablo 3 is truely a great game, but is completely destroyed by this mess of / lack of support!
If you are enjoying the game, maybe give seasons a try. We all start fresh, so it won’t feel so bad that you have lost your progress.
Nice try, so you mire or less say that Seasons is the excuse to destroy game progress…no no, this does not work like that for me.
My advice to everybody who buys a Blizzard console game: expect unsolved issues, lack of support for these issues, forum tha5 are a big mess without moderators (they only do that for pc games!) and a complete lack of responsibility from the side if Blizzard Entertainment
I can understand your frustration and your desire to try every avenue. How infuriating. I’m not sure which org is responsible for this code, but they’d definitely be getting a big fat FU from me if that was my experience.
Was there any disruption to the patch process?
The differences explained for PS and XB here are interesting. It’s totally possible to build a better system with a balance between the two where restores can be pulled down from the cloud, but with support’s control so it isn’t scammed. Unfortunately this doesn’t help you today though.
There was no disruption in the patch process, all seemed to go well…thats why all this is so st*pid, no reason to change code in such a way, that it distroys savefiles…and no reaction from Blizzard, PS only reacted after a week, but also does not seem to have a clue!
Feel your pain. A smooth update should definitely not do this. Feel for the support guys too… they present the front line, but aren’t responsible for the mechanisms in place to support you.
There’s a few companies involved too, so it’s hard for us to judge where the blame belongs.
It’s a wakeup call for me. I too have 4 years invested in my apparently single online/offline save.
If it happened to you like this, it could happen to anyone using xb1. Super poor form… considering there is an online save component, there needs to be tools for support to roll people back.
Have to question investing time and energy into a blizz/microsoft venture if they can’t come up with a better answer for you than what you’ve been given.
Thanks for your empathy in this! Indeed, this can happen to anyone with a console! And also with other Blizzard third party on consoles by the way! Regarding support, I understand that these guys are upfront, but at least give some kind of response on this, support really feels like a black hole now, difficult to find and absorbing without feedback!
Unfortunately a lot of support in many platforms is outsourced, scripted and relies on tools built by others. It does my head in too. Almost useless for anything out of the ordinary… designed by the business heads to be efficient at keeping up with the ordinary… lost my password, cc didnt work, blah blah.
Where you do get lucky and get a support guy in proximity to the experts who hasnt had the initiative beaten out of him, he’s got to get in line for access to experts to get a creative solution. And he too can find himself out in the cold. More than likely you’ve had one of the guys who are just running the script… and possibly focused more on closing tickets than trying to help people understand the outcome. It’s a super sad state affairs dealing with any decent sized company these days.
I dont know what the escalation options are or if there are any for support of this game… your sanity may be tested finding out and maybe just to a better explanation of the situation. It usually does my head in when I try such things. Sometimes get somewhere… often dont.
The good part is, less people play non-season. So you only need to complete story to unlock Adventure mode once. Then you have access to Adventure mode and Challenge rift forever. Don’t forget to save your progress on a USB-Stick after completing Campaign.
