This has happened multiple times leaving the CR and clicking on Adventure Mode.
You just close it but it does show a bug with this patch.

Uninstalled Diablo3 after two crashes today. Rarely crashed before 2.66 update. Had “shop menu error 396010” several times with 2.66 . No errors for a day or two. Observed 396010 again after uninstalling, then reinstalling D3. Was clicking stash.

Still getting this strange error.
I had same error, seemed to correct itself by exiting the game and then restarted it.
The error came up for me when entering game options and also accessing pets.
seems to be working fine for me again.

Same here, but only when trying to look at my collections for my pet. 
It is so lonely with my gold grabber. haha
same here… but others in party said they don’t have that issue…
I was in rift and just teleporting out. game crashed oddly and now this code msg pops up anytime i go to game settings.

Same thing happening to me, cannot access my pet or other cosmetic items.

Im getting the same error when I open Game Settings and Collection.
After clicking “OK” with the Collections menu, the menu doesn’t load; it just stays blank.
With the Game Settings menu, it appears to load properly but then I am unable to join any public games. The server searches for 30 sec and then creates a new game with only me in it. I wouldn’t consider this an issue, but it does this every time. I’m not sure if this is related to the same 396010 error/bug but I’ve never had this problem before this patch.
There’s a similar post in Technical Support… have you tried the steps suggested by Blizzard or @PMG.
Just to let you guys know it, in my case I just exited game and battle net app completely and restarted and it is OK ! I did not need to reboot PC. Hope this information helps anyone.

Wow, that actually worked for me too. I then ran into the same error code again after breakfast and restarting game + launcher worked again.

I’m getting the same issue any time I access “game settings”.
I’ve been having all sort of troubles with the new patch and the new update from W10. Game with no sound, crashed mid game and now when I opened the game this morning, got this error code.

error 396010 resolution:
I changed my router to port forward all ports (DMZ) to my machine, this cleared the issue.
I suspect its just port 80 & 1119 on the TCP side, and 1119 & 6120 on UDP but I have not verified this.
