Primordial Ashes for NS also?

So, is it season only or is also for NS?

Its a feature for the game not a season theme. So, yes, its for non season too.

I’ve been collecting useless primals in the current season since the patch notes first released.

I’ll hold them when the season rolls over on Sunday. I’ll salvage them on Tuesday when the patch get released so I can start forging a couple of items right away.

i tested ptr and in ns i could salvage old primals to primordials ashes. So i think it goes this way live.

So salvaging primal items in NS will no longer gives you 15 souls ?
And instead gives you 55 primordial ashes ?

Or do you have a choice ?

You dont have a choice. If you salvage primals you get primordial ashes.

Ok, no choice ,
So there will be 2 primals class …
One from ashes that you can only wear 1 items in your build
Two from forgotten souls or drops that you can wear with multiple same primals class in your build …

I think blizz needs to make that clarifications . Why not named it different ie like the Sanc primal items in S27 …

They called them “upgraded primals” in the patch notes. Its clearly explained.
If the upgraded primal isnt good, you can salvage it and you get 55 primordial ashes. So one can say one fail attempt costs 45 primordial ashes.

Cool,
Just to be frank , I am a hoarder and pack rat , so I have been saving most primal set items that I can fit tetris styles inside my unused toons and also followers

With the upgraded Primal , I can complete my build with the hardest items to get good stats primal such as : weapons, off hands , rings and amulets .
Then keep my Primal set items for each class as regular Primals

I believe @dctjwow is talking about in-game. When you mouse-over a Primal item and a [Crafted] Primal item, they both say Primal Ancient Item in the tooltip.

The simple solution is to call the crafted items Primordials rather than Primals.

I would complete this list with gloves. But be careful! Perfect gloves, for example cc, cd, as and ad, are very hard to upgrade. It costs you tons of primordials ashes.

The item icon will have a little red pentagramm in the lower right corner, indicating it was a crafted primal.

Yeah. I got that. But, many players don’t know about setting that in the Game Options.

I think its different ,
What you are showing is the ancient legendary and regular primal with a yellow star ,

vs a red pentagram that indicates the crafted primal

In ptr you could see the difference in the background of the upper left icon. The background looks different like usual. I cant explain it exactly. You will see it, when you hover over the little icon at the upper left corner.

But that’s on by default. Atleast for me.

That is exactly what I’m trying to show…   Yes.

If a player does not have Rarity Icons for Items checked in the Game Options, regular Primal items and Crafted Primal items look the same. The only time you might know the difference is if you crafted several Primal items and tried to equip more than one. Now, you have to figure out which of your Primal items are crafted and which are not. (Just sayin’)

If Blizzard would rename the crafted Primal items to Primordial Items or Crafted Primal Items in the tooltip, it wouldn’t matter what you set in the Game Options. You’d be able to tell which are Crafted Primal Items at a glance.

I don’t know what you mean by “the upper left icon”.

But, you’re correct, I cannot check it now. I’ll try to remember when Season 28 starts.

Hmm…   It could be. (It’s been so long since I’ve adjusted my Options, I don’t remember the defaults).

Also if i see it right in your image, the background color is also a different shade and theres no red bordes.

Yeah. That image is for demonstration purposes only. The PTR had already ended. I had to “steal” the image of the Crafted Primal Yang’s from one of Rax’s videos (I think it was). Then, I Photoshop’d it over a screenshot of my non-Season Demon Hunter’s Inventory.

YouTube videos cause some loss in color (saturation, brightness & contrast). And then, screenshot to paste and saved (again) to JPEG…   There’s going to be some quality loss.

When Season 28 starts and I’ve crafted at least one Primal, maybe I’ll update the image. (But, only if I think it’s needed).
