What better way to ensure that you get at least ONE primal that is useful? Or maybe you are one of those insanely lucky people, then use it on something that you have always wanted to see as a primal. For example, I would like to see and have a primal Horadric Burger. Granted I need to find the item or have someone give it to me first, but I would do it. It would be the ONE primal I would NEVER salvage.
If RNGzus was really nice to me one season and gave me all the useful ancients/primals I needed to get my Barbarian into those higher GRs, I would do it. Then of course there is a high percent chance that RNGzus will
all over my poor Barbarian and give him all the cruddy ancients and primals possible. Then once again, what better way to ensure that I get that ONE primal that is useful?
I like the give away primal once a GR 70 is cleared. I really do, even though some people are still against it. Lets be honest, it truly is a give away, GR 70 isnât hard to clear anymore. However, 90% of the time I end up getting free 15 souls after it has been memed more than once in various chats. Especially if itâs not even close to being class related. That is the worst part of it in my opinion.
Thank you for the fast and free 15 souls, but I would rather have a token that will turn a class specific item into a primal. For all those that would take this as an opportunity to complain that everything in the game is already being given away fro free, players will still have the rest of the season to find as many useless primals as their mind can handle. What is ONE (more?) primal that is actually useful?
Of course it would look like the red star with a circle around it because that is really awesome. Yes, it should still have that cool primal effect if a player decides to toss it on the ground and look at it because itâs really fun to do. Obviously the token needs to be used in that season or it goes bye bye. Use it or lose it.
Just a thought to give a little extra something to an aging game.

Good idea.
Iâve never gotten a single good Primal Ancient for clearing a GR70 during seasons that was actually usable for my class. My last one was a GoldskinâŚsigh.

Try getting an Etreyu on a Barbarian. Yeah. A. Bow. On a Barbarian. Second Primal is a Loenine Bow of Hashir. This item actually has the word âbowâ in the name. Yup. Again. On a Barbarian. Oh good grief. Third Primal was the Blackthorne amulet. Hmmm. I actually used that just because the stats were better than my Flavor and I rarely encountered any Pylons in GRs. Yup. RNG on top of RNG. Good olâ RNG. If I remember correctly, I didnât get ONE truly useful Primal. NO! I am not counting the Blackthorne amulet either. Best thing to do, is to keep them all and go meme happy in various chats.
I posted this almost a month ago, took me a while to find it to. I think it the post about Blizz trolling with primals.
I hear you. Two of my friends (The only 2 that played D3 haha) quit D3 because of what they got as their free primal for clearing a GR70. One friend quit last season and the other a season or two before that. They refuse to play D3, but might be willing to give D4 a chance.
My free primal this season was Kymboâs Gold. Between my SC and HC characters I think I currently have about 13K Forgotten Souls. Good thing I got that extra 15. As hard as you have to work to get Primals they should be more useful than they are.

They will never do this in a million years because of how it could be exploited. I thought of it instantly and Iâm only a casual player.
Get all your alts up to 70 and each one of them clears a 70 grift. We all know it doesnât take that long. Stick them all in the bank and then use them on your fave char to get them decked out in whatever primal gear they fancy.
Sure, you can nerf it so only one char gets a primal token. Or make it so the token is soul bound to a character, but thatâs extra coding, and they wonât fancy that.
You only get the guaranteed primal once. So you couldnât farm these for that unless op is talking every time you hit 70 on each character then yes, it would be used and abused.

Nope, just that one time deal when you clear a GR 70. Well, once in SC and once in HC.

This season, for my HC DH, it was a Countess Julia amulet. For my normal Necro, it was marginally better⌠a Puzzle ring.
I love the idea of a primal tokenâitâs a great, simple way to give the player more agency in how they gear their character.
But I do want to say that getting GG primals isnât going to get you into âhigher GRs.â In fact, primal gear is not even priority #1. If you want to get into higher GRs, you should farm bounties and rifts for mats, then grind groups GRs as a zDPS Barb for XP and gem levels. Once youâve got plenty of everything, you should re-roll and re-forge gear that is crucial to your build. A GG ancient is as good as a primal if you have the right stats.

Are you the guy who was told to just play a BowBarian?
On the topic, I donât like it as the first GR70, it is way too early in the game in my opinion to allow someone to have the perfect item for their build. Even if you could only choose the item and not the stats. But for some point in the game, yeah I like it.
Or just give us some form of token on salvaging a primal and it is used in a cube recipe that can be used to re-roll two affixes on a primal or something like that.
Love the ideaâŚIâm guessing it goes like:
- Primal token drops
- take it to cube and recipe with whatever item you want
- Poof it becomes primal item
but then youâre just opening Pandoraâs box for the âmy primal token gave me a
xxxxâ
IMO - worse than a useless, non-class specific or wrong class item (like the bow on the barb) is getting what MIGHT be epic (seeing that red band around an un-IDâd Ninth Cirri DH quiver for example)âŚand then watching your hopes and dreams crumble as it rolls with essentially garbage stats (Vit/LPS/Chakram - not even one of CHC/CDR/HA).
BTW - that is MY Primal 9th Cirri aboveâŚnot my freebie (was a Telerandâs Hand on my Necro this season), but man what a buzzkill that turned into.
I think in principle, the idea is not bad, but I propose keep level 70 same, but make Primal token drop at level 100, 110, & 120 solo (beyond 120 will be too sweaty for most causals), so people have something to aim for.
But make it you need also maybe insane amount of forgotten souls to craft a primal item with it.
Make also the token, droppable, but extremely rare.
