Primal enable drop problems. Account based?

I have played a couple of seasons now since Primals released. Not seen one yet drop for me, although i did the Greater Rift 70 solo needed to get the first one. The only primals i’ve seen are the ones my friends have. And been playing as much as them this season, and two of my friends have 10+ among them and i am at zero. Same as earlier seasons. At this point i dont know if my account is bugged or if im just been very unlucky every season play… I even tried going back to non-seasonal diablo 3 and do the 70 Greater Rift there to see if i could get this fixed but nothing so far.

This has been repeated 57 trillion times already. Bad luck is not a bug. There’s nothing broken.

Primals 1 in 400 drops on average. Pay extra attention to the wording, on average. That allows huge variances in actual drops. You could easily have 10k legendary drops without a single one yet that is still normal. Hideously bad luck but normal drop behaviour still. However on a very long term the primal drops average out at 1 in 400, even for you.

Don’t obsess over primals. A well rolled ancient or even regular legendary is often way better than a primal.

Yeah, but this season i did not get the guaranteed Primal from completing a 70 Greater rift. Also i did not know about this feature from earlier. But this seems overly strange… I do not obsess but it feels like something is wrong. I have had items close to being the same as primal and are happy with them.

So you definitely got the “Primal Soul-o” achievement? That indicates that the primals are unlocked and should come with the guaranteed primal.

There have been reports of very rare cases where people did not recieve the guaranteed primal even though they fulfilled the requirements.

Yes i have the achievement. But the item did not drop. Im very attentive when it come to items, and i have NEVER seen a primal drop.

The amount of primals that anyone gets is all a matter of rng. Also you do have to know that Primals are not gonna be guaranteed with fixed affixes that are useful to your build. So what has probably happened in your case is that you have had them drop but all of them have been useless for the build you are playing.

The best way to increase your chances of getting them to drop along with well rolled ancient gear is to have a character that is strong at doing speedy GRs like the GoD DH. Increase the strength of that speedy farmer to where you are doing GR90 in about 2-3 minutes or even less. The faster you can do a GR90 the more chances you have of getting a primal to drop. Just like you also increase your chances at getting screams to drop to open echoing nightmares. Since you don’t get more legendaries to drop beyond GR90 that is why the majority of players use speed GR90 for gear and it can be used for screams in this season as well.

The whole idea is to increase your spins on the slot machine of rng. With that many increases it will bound to pay off.

I really believe though that if you have been playing as long as you say you have that your problem is that you are actually complaining about not getting any useful primals where others are.

Okay. Im not making a post about not getting primals that are aimed at me or my builds. The problem is that the Primals are “NONEXSITANT”. I didn’t run to the blizzard forums to complain! Im trying to figure out why they do not appear. I know that you may think you helping with adding your half-smart comments about RNG and chance and all that, but the thing is the guaranteed one did not drop for the Achievement “Primal Soul-o”/70 Greater Rift Solo.

In-game, right-click on your Hero portrait and choose View Profile from the menu. Then navigate to Seasons > Season 26 > Summary. The summary will have a figure for Nephalem Rifts completed. This figure is actually the combined number of Nephalem Rifts and Greater Rifts you’ve done in the season.

Okay, if we assume that you’re getting an average of 4 GR keys per Nephalem Rift (e.g. solo with a follower emanating the extra keys set) that means 20% of that figure were Nephalem Rifts and 80% of them were Greater Rifts.

Again, just for ease of calculation, let’s assume all of those GRs were GR90 or above, meaning the Guardian is guaranteed to give 12 drops. Of those, 10 are guaranteed to be legendary, and the remaining 2 can be blue, yellow, or legendary. Let’s say an average of 11 legendaries per GR.

Okay, so take the figure in your season summary, multiply it by 0.8 and multiply that by 11, and that’s an estimate of how many legendaries you’ll have earned from GRs in the season. What is that number for you?

6476, misscalculations on earlier comment. (edit)

Okay, so…

  • Chance that a legendary will be primal = (1/400)
  • Chance that a legendary will not be primal = (399/400)
  • Chance that none of X legendaries will be primal = (399/400)^X

Let’s plug in your number of legendaries, i.e. 6476…

  • Chance that none of 6476 legendaries will be primal = (399/400)^6476 = 0.00000009119

The chance that none of your legendaries were primal is approximately 9 in 100 million.

I’m pressing X to doubt.

Okay, then you are saying that there are no chance that my account have a bug that i can not get ancient primals? Im probably guessing there are 9 in 100 million chance that you did not read the stuff i wrote. I like that noone is actually acknowledging that i wrote this post because i did not get the Primal from doing the 70 grift. and that primals wont drop because that i have this issue. At this point i lost faith in this post and the people commenting. I honestly humoured myself with giving you the number

Yes.

wow the tunnel vision.

Every single time we’ve ever seen this sort of thing reported, it has never been a bug, it has always just been someone being unlucky with RNG, or using hyperbole to try and strengthen their case.

It’s not tunnel vision, it’s based on literally years of hanging out in the Bug Report forums. The most-frequently reported bugs are not even bugs, and we have a stickied thread detailing the most-frequently reported ones, but people still report them.

Almost 100% of the threads we see in Bug Report are re-reporting things that are in the known issues thread (i.e. known bugs) or mis-reporting things as bugs that are not bugs that are in the “things that are not bugs” thread.

It’s really simple. If your bloodshard cap is 1200 (or higher) that means you’ve successfully completed a GR70 solo (or higher) and that means it’s possible for primals to drop.

But when it’s a 100% drop first time at grift 70. Then i should have gotten one then?

Yes- you missed it. Probably had loot view disabled.

Lost in the matrix, or Rick stole it.

Salvaged by accident, most likely. Or a primal is in your stash somewhere and you are overlooking it.

No.

First, you must have done the GR solo.

Second, it must have been in-season to be a guarantee drop. Non-season is unlock only.

I have a primal in my stash, but not dropped for me.
