I was introduced to FMOD a few days ago and it was bugging the sh1t out of me, so I tried turning off EVERYTHING that I could in Task Manager and just ran about 4 hrs in 4 man groups unmolested by the dreaded FMOD. The specific things I can remember turning off were all ios/apple related stuff and the java autoupdater stuff. There were probably a few other things but those were the ones that really stood out to me.
I’ll post some updates over next couple of days, if this is a valid fix then I think the community will be excited to hear about it. I was talking to a friend earlier, and he didn’t even know that ethereals make a unique sound when they drop b/c his sound has been off for so long.
edit on 8/25: Ok so played a ton over the past 3 weeks, 0 fmod freezes since I started this thread. Looks like the fix is working, at least for me. Anybody else tried it yet?
