With your logic after D2 expansion Blizzard North sat around and did nothing. Do you believe they pay people to sit around?
they worked on a 2nd d2 expansion and then d3 until it was canceled in 2005, and itās not my logic itās the facts of the company.
Lol thats my whole point. DO you even read my previous posts? WHat are you arguing then? Thats what I said, there was no financial point in making another D2 expansion when you can create a brand new full priced game with the new 3d graphics. Arguing for the sake of arguing without any context. If you are gonna argue at least have the decency to read what I wrote lol. Arguing the same point I was making
they were making d3 in 2000 they had 2 teams 1 for d2 expansions and one for d3
yes you are
So whats your ultimate point? you dont even know
I could be wrong but I think heās pointing out that they were actually working on a D2 expansion.
D3 also had an expansion planned but Iām pretty sure it got cancelled because the company is moving towards microtranactions rather than continue with expansions. The RMAH was D3ās microtranactions and when they removed it, I think that was the nail in the coffin for any further expansions.
It makes sense financially since releasing cosmetics, etc. probably cost a lot less than releasing and testing expansions. You potentially also get just as much money or even more. I would be very surprised if D4 doesnāt have any microtranactions on it. Weāve been seeing it in many if not all games that have been released since D3.
But again, I think weāve taken a big tangent from ploot.
Ok so they were working on another D2 expansion? So what is your disagreement with me then? Fact: No new D2 expansion was made most likely I would guess is it didnt make sense financially. And you disagree with me on this?
Iām not disagreeing with you. Iām just pointing out that both D2 and D3 each had an expansion and each had one failed expansion. Answering your updated post - I would think both didnāt make sense financially. As you mentioned, D2 for WoW and I believe D3 stopped to pave way for games focused on microtranactions.
However, the thing Iām not connecting is how ploot is connected with the failing of D3 when D3 had so many other issues with it and I canāt recall ploot being mentioned on top of any of those lists.
Since I see you replying. Just wanted to let you know, I appreciate you taking the time to reply to all my responses. Iām headed out so Iāll catch you reply later and hopefully we can continue to chill and talk some more. Thanks for helping me past the time. Peace for now!
Im not saying ploot was the only thing that ruined the game. But I do think it contributed. In D3 when the something dropped for me, my friends would also get some type of different unique at the same time. We all got our individual rare rewards from killing diablo. It wasnt like I got something good and they didnt. The game rewarded all of us. It should be one item split between everyone. And the worst part was if you a sorc the game throw you a sorc item. It was a hand holding feeling, to make everyone have everything without the need to trade. Good night. Hopefully we dont enjoy arguing more than playing the actual game lol
I dunno man, you sound like you are projecting here. Listen, just let people collect loot, you donāt need everything that drops, let others collect things.
Well, if I host a game I want to be able to pick some loot, not see it get picked by someone else. This whole change matter only for public games, and people will complain about this sooner or later after the game is out. This and many other small things.
Aside from the very good atmosphere the game feels very dated, if they want to keep players in they will have to make changes, unless this is just quick nostalgia cash grab, then we can let it rot with those tiny amount of players that are stuck in the past era.
You can pick loot up, itās easy, you just click on it, but this is all after we get to the fact that in a public game, nothing that drops belongs to you, again you are proving me right, you really do think that all loot that drops in a game you are in should belong to you, well no it shouldnāt, the other 7 people combined are destroying enemies alot faster and more effectively than you the host of the game, and furthermore, this is also after we get around to the fact that if you are doing MF runs (I am guessing you donāt know what an MF run is as you only played the beta) then you either join someone elses game (for example, if they are all on act II, and you want to do a pindlerun, nobody is going to care if you go MFing in their game) then you do them either in other peoples games or in a private game with friends or even alone.
You donāt need, deserve or are entitled to a single thing that drops in a public game whether you host it or not I am afraid. It is a public game.
No its not a public game. Its a game I host as free to enter, but since Iām the host I have a right to pick up items if I want to, without the need of being the fastest clicks on the west and without the need to fight for it with some scripter, that will pick up everything.
If the game will work as you want it, I donāt see a reason to host games and I can just play solo, and thatās what I will be doing, with the current outdated system they can remove multiplayer and I wont get worried one bit about it.
It sure is a public game, do you understand what public game means? It means it is open to anyone to join, which is it, unless you make it private, which is the opposite of public.
Of course you will just be playing solo, for the like ninth time you have proven me right in regards to ploot advocates, you want to play solo in a multiplayer game. You wonāt be playing single player, you will be playing on battlenet, just on your own. This is another reason why you want to force ploot onto us, you would love to play in an 8 player game where nobody communicates, nobody even says anything and instead, it is just 8 randoms in a ploot game just doing whatever.
Iām sorry but that is not Diablo II, with respect, itās just not D2.
You are really delusional. If I leave game open no one will communicate they will just grab what they can as fast as possible then leave, or turn hostile and kill me after. So much fun.
In the past people were more likely to communicate in games, today not so much. Iām playing some MP games with randoms, actual level of communication is null, not like suddenly this will change for this particular game.
If you donāt like D2, just donāt play D2? And wait for D4? Or just keep playing D3?
We see you, casuals, we see you.
Asking for drastic changes, flooding forums, flooding for personnal loots, charms inventorys, absurds changes.
And we all know youāll leave to play D4 or w/e new games. But youāll also leave us your casuals 2000+ change.
What? Who told you this? I appreciate that you have only tried the beta but people in public games have the right to collect loot if you leave it, in fact, they have the right to collect loot when you are in the game.
Can I ask, what has given you the impression that you deserve all the loot dropped in any game you find yourself in? Because you donāt.
If you donāt like D2 then just donāt play it, you have D3 and the soon to be released D4, it will have everything you want. D3 has ploot and zero community, itās perfect for what you are asking for and it is right there for you to play, but again, with D2R, you have ZERO ārightā to all loot in any game.
They can pick loot if I donāt do so after few seconds or so.
I know that your wet dreams of running around with scripts, picking up everything and then killing people are at risk here, but thatās not how multiplayer games should work in those days.
No, they can collect it immediately if they want to, because they have that right, but you on the other hand, have zero right to tell other players that they have to wait āXā seconds before you will allow them to pick something up.
Remember, you have only tried the beta, the people in the public games you play with on launch will be vastly more experienced than you and as such, they will be doing the most damage to enemies, which could make one to argue that if anything, they deserve the loot more than you, maybe they should be the ones telling you to wait five seconds before picking something up.
Iāve never used bots, hacks or maphack of any kind, because I enjoy the game and enjoy finding my own stuff. You really have zero idea of what D2 is.
