I would like a moderator to delete this thread, as the forums will not allow me to delete my own post. I will keep attempting to resolve the issue on my own.
Generally when people report issues with these achievements they’re killing blues when they should be killing yellows, or vice versa. I don’t recall a single instance of a report where killing the right type didn’t result in the achievement sub-task being credited.
Guess I’m the first, then. I was very specific about killing the right mobs. Needed yellows, killed yellows. Meticulously hunted every single one. I finished the softcore achievements between 2015 and 2018, I just wanted to get the HC versions, too.
I killed the Colossal Golgors I mentioned, in the zones I mentioned, twice each now, and have gotten no credit. Also, I understand that some are more rare than others, but I have not found the rare (yellow name) Maggot Brood, called Maggotburst, in the Caverns of Luray. I’ve reset my game hundreds of times in the last few days, while I was narrowing down the list to my last 3 rares. There’s supposed to be a Bounty for it, but I’ve had no luck.
Enemies on bounties are usually Unique monsters, not Rare. Their names are in dimmed yellow in chat window, while rare monsters are in bright yellow.
Rares have 3 or more minions but uniques have none.

Whether that event’s possible or not depends on the dead mobs on the floor in levels 1 and 2. More information here…

You’ll note from the video that Maggotburst has a purple name, i.e. it’s a unique mob, not a champion / rare.
One other tip, if you’re not already doing so, is that when you’re farming these levels looking for champions / rares, ensure you have the Nemesis Bracers equipped or in the Cube, as you can get the right mob types from a pylon / shrine spawn, even if there aren’t any on the map otherwise.
The mobs are definitely there. I’ve got 100% of the in-game achievements.

Note from the on-screen text that Maggotburst is listed in Yellow. Also, note, as I just realized, that Maggotburst is a Maggot, not a Maggot Brood. Every Rare monster I have killed that has ticked a box on the Trophy Hunting Achievement, has been the darker yellow uniquely named mob. Champions for We are the Champions and No Time for Losers are just the name of the mob type in blue.
Once I score a pair of Nemesis Bracers in HC, I will definitely equip them, I know that will be a big help. I’ll keep looking. I’m down to that Colossal Golgor and Maggot Brood for my last 2 hardcore achievements.
