I hate paragon and only the highest paragon gets to DPS. Remove paragon.
Edit: remove augments too.
It’s almost like you forget that we can search the forums…
Removing paragon and augments will improve the game for thousands of players.
Please dont remove Paragons. Keep it. Same with Augments. Thank you.
Sounds like a “Git Gut-Solution” here!
I thought the OP quit the game? Like 8 or 9 times now.
I played every single season and I played vanilla and beta. You know who actually quit the game? Kripparian. The guy who came up with paragon.
Ok what I’m getting here is: paragon is great when it benefits me but when other people benefit from it it has to go.
Paragon benefits those that invest the time into it. If you can’t do the same you don’t get the same benefit. If all your saying is the “no lifers” are better than me so nerf em. Well I tell you what they are because of the time they put into the game.
We could just get rid of the main stat from Core paragons and watch people run around with 200m hp in rifts. We would solve two issues at the same time:
- no more unlimited power gain
- less random one-shot deaths from an arrow shot by a 20 year old skeleton with a moldy bow covered with moss
To be fair to the OP, current paragon system sucks and a lot of people agree on that. He just chose the wrong reason to hate on it.
LOL wouldnt surprise me im sure ive seen a I Quit from this guy somewhere before ![]()
Not you, that’s for sure…
In July 2019 you were quitting…
In August 2019 you came back…
In February 2020 you bought a second account…
That’s not an argument even if he did quit due to the paragon system(which AFAIK he didn’t). A system isn’t inherently bad or undesired just because its creator may say so. Typically that’s decided by the majority of its users, or by a well thought-out reasoning to why the premise is true. You’ve presented neither.
Your best bet is D4 OP as this game will remain a hamsterwheel forever. Even then we might not be safe from this uninspiring mindnumbing expgrind. It all depends on whether they choose to listen to the few hamsters that love the grind or everyone else.
For anyone losing context here, OP is being sarcastic. He can’t stop playing this game for seasons to come. You’re a few years too late to come up with this though.
Suggesting to trash thousands of players’ efforts on plvl and claiming it would improve the game is a common troll argument back in '15-'16.
I still think they should have made 1-70 feel more like D2s 1-99… and perhaps Paragon 1-1000 could be like 1-99 as well.
Maybe not removing paragon. But cap it at paragon 500, and of course, make each lvl take way more XP than today. Maybe p500 could be the new ~p2000 in terms of progression speed.
So there are still meaningful choices to be made about what to spend paragon points on, unlike today.
While also being a reasonable cap that goes away from the endless lvling.
Heck, maybe make it equivalent to ~p1000-1500 instead, but dont make it account based anymore. Individual progress for each character. More similar to D2/PoE etc.
I actually tweeted a suggestion very similiar to this already. I suggested this:
(Diablo 4) instead of dropping Tomes of Skill, consider tying skill points to a paragon-like system. Accomplishes encouraging grinding, but it's not an infinite. You could compete at p40 on basically the same level as a p100, but you *could* grind to p100 to cap all your skills - it just won't be necessary to push endgame.
Should never ever be possible to cap all skills tbh. Goes against everything A-RPGs stand for.
Just like D3s paragon system is.
It was about as perfect as I could come up with. It promotes grinding, with exponential experience jumps between skill points. I was thinking something like paragon 40 is about as hard to get to as level 70 in d2. Paragon 60 is about level 80. Paragon 99 I was shooting equilivent to level 99 in Diablo 2.
Assuming that you’re talking about Diablo 4, I had suggested before that the skill tomes should only grant 5-10 additional skill points, instead of enough points to max out every skill. But that is only my opinion on the matter.
