Please Remove Nephalem Glory

Please remove the Nephalem Glory orbs from the game and just make the Nephalem Glory buff permanent. This seems to be the easiest way to solve the problem of letting your kill streak drop just to spawn more orbs.

Thanks for reading

Plenty of support for this being reviewed by the devs. A reminder it’s still on peoples minds doesnt hurt.

I haven’t run the math on it, but I think a reasonable case has been made for the devs to look at the claims, review it and be informative / decisive.

we’ve been asking this for YEARS since we got seasons, and the previous CM even claimed there was nothing wrong with how neph glory works and that it would not be touched upon… even though we tried to prove otherwise…

sounds like that kicks ball the ball back into the communities court to demonstrate the math unfortunately… up to individuals there

Never heard of this issue with NG orbs…can someone explain?

I have done the math for it in the past, several times, for how much time is lost/wasted which translates into playstyle difficulties. The whole mechanic disrupts the natural play/feel of the game, and can be very detrimental to several builds.

Literally have been talking about this since the game released. It’s almost impossible at this point that it will change. They are moving on to full dev of D4.

Hmmmm perhaps not.

Two popular D3 streamers have individually suggested big juice might be coming for D3…seems they may know something but not saying anything yet.

Agree about this.

The math I’m referring to was what I felt was largely undisputed in the last round of discussions on it.

To compare PC and console on like for like basis to demonstrate to Blizz reps there was a disadvantage against their assertion to the contrary.

Some pretty straight forward solutions have been put forward, so I’m feeling less inclined to think their inaction is about resourcing and more about perceptions.

Yes the math…I’ve been looking into that after Zoo83 posted a few months back comparing PC and Console.

We used to believe that we did half damage compared to PC and NG doubled our damage to be on par with PC…but that is not true.

NG does double our damage over PC meaning we should clear a few GR’s higher than PC using the same build/gear.

But other factors come into play that “equalize” up the platforms meaning PC and Console do roughly the same GR’s using the same builds.

Console actually seems to have the upper hand because the NG double damage really hits the Rift Guardian…in a GR145 on HC I can kill a RG in 2 mins whilst on PC with the same build and Paragon as me it takes double the time but then they can create more time because they have more density in trash to spawn the RG faster than me.

So I do believe the “balance” NG gives on Console does work well and equalizes PC and Console so if you play both you don’t feel that much of a difference.

HOWEVER, the issues in “getting” NG and maintaining it are the BIGGEST issue we have on Console. It is not fair to be gimped on the first ten enemies or have to drop kill streaks or stop dashing but turn around to get NG orbs etc.

Simply speaking the result of NG is good but having the extra mechanic to get it and maintain it really spoils GR’s on Console.

The answer is to give us the buff that NG gives us for GR’s so we don’t need to collect them but we get the “equalizing” effect of it that means Console and PC are near on par.

I’m planning to do a video on this explaining the math behind what I say above.

This is a great summary Homerjnick, thank you always for your efforts in this area. It also comes across as making the most sense of all of the ideas I’ve read at the forums so far.

I’ve also been thinking about it just from my own perspective of clears published as achievable for builds I’ve tried and comparing results. Spending more time with d3 in recent months than I used to, I’ve come to understand how much of a role paragon plays in clears. So all of the above has helped set expectations for me to a point where it’s all making sense.

Nah, don’t forget when they patched the GRs to remove any pre-stacked NG. They know NG is hated, and we were building up full 3 mins before opening GRs. They want us to deal with it.

Did that change have the affect of wiping other buffs that might have previously carried into the GRs too or just changed NG? I think this must have changed a while ago? Perhaps before I was paying much attention to d3.

just NG’s IIRC… though you can start a GR then go back and pick up buffs, but used to you could stack NG’s BEFORE starting the GR…

I disagree…they removed any prestacking because of PC players going into Cow Rifts and stacking Archon stacks…the fact we cannot prestack NG now because of that change never entered their head in my opinion…it was simply a consequence of the PC change.

If they are looking to enhance D3 a bit more than just Seasonal stuff to keep folks interested until D4 which won’t be out in 2021 then we may have a chance for some QoL stuff for us Console D3 players getting implemented.

When I push I group up in Normal difficult loads of mobs in Halls of Agony, start my GR, go to Halls and instagib the enemies and get loads of NG then run back to the GR…time taken to do that can be the same or quicker than killing the first ten enemies!

So open GR…get Festering or Battlefields…port back to town…go to Festering or Halls of Agony…wipe out enemies and get a few NG orbs…back to GR…
