Yeah, that was the intention of the game designers. Might as well just play singleplayer if weāre supposed to play the game alone.
They have not SUBSTANTIALLY changed the game. The changes you have mentioned are QoL. I am not necessarily happy with all of the changes they have made but can live with what they have done so far. As for defining what they were trying to do with the āremasterāā¦ I was using their own statements about substantially changing the game. Am I hoping that bots and that other crap are still able to be used? Apparently I am. Thank you for telling me what to think. Keep ASSuming what people are advocating for. It suits you. Boy it sure is swell of you to remaster one of the games that defined a genre all those years ago. D3 sure was a mess huh? I really donāt know how you messed that up. Iām not sure what a remaster means exactly but here are some things Iād like added to the game, because honestly a lot of this feels dated.
- Increased drop rates for rare items and runes
Iām sure youāre aware that as a modern gamer there are other titles I want to play, so please donāt expect me to spend all of my time grinding it out. Also, I have 12 children and 6 full time jobs, so how is it fair to me?
- No immunities on monsters
In relation to my first point, I just canāt be bothered to have two damage types or play with friends. Also, it makes the game feel really really difficult, and who wants that?
- Charm inventory and increased carry space
I hate having to constantly move items around and make difficult choices about what to keep. At least take that stupid book out of the game and let me press T for a hotbar teleport that doesnāt use up the 2 inventory slots you gave me.
- Balance Runewords
I need you to buff my underwhelming choice of gear so I can powercreep and upset the meta.
- Personal loot
Why am I allowed to do work so that other people can take credit? The world is already like that, I need loot personally delivered for my hands only. Itās not entitlement. I paid $40 bucks same as those guys stealing my loot. I should get loot same as them. Why must everything be a competition?
- Paid level boost
Why canāt I just pay for a level 95 character? This leveling system is so archaic.
- Loot filter
After I get sufficiently geared I donāt want to see all that trash on the floor. I donāt care that some other guy has had worse luck gearing and has more loot options visible. Let him sort through five drops while I grab that Ber. Itās modern QoL.
- Add corruption and melee splash
Why? Itās cool. Am I right?
- Identifying items
Why is this in the game? To force me to use 2 more squares of my inventory or talk to some NPC and click twice, TWICE, everytime. Why canāt I just click on a book or something?
- Experience lost on death
Again to go with ploot and increased rare drops, who has time for death penalties? Just getting back to where you were killing monsters is annoying enough.
These are just some of the major issues I have with D2, if you canāt change these things I will be forced to reprimand you on the forums for your lazy anti-player designs every single hour until D4 comes out.

Update:: Itās weird that even after all of those wonderful improvements were implemented D2R just couldnāt keep my attention. Maybe they just didnāt know how to make quality games back in 2001. So listen, here are some of my suggestions for D4ā¦

If they donāt add shared loot, Iād love that option. I might just do a season and after the bots take over play singleplayer.
I can buy D2R and think that shared loot is a good idea at the same time. FFA doesnāt stop me from playing D2R. It just forces me into solo play in an MP game, which is weird.

Nah, these are other requested arguments Iāve read in other posts that will be implemented alongside your ploot desires. Because why should your demands get in and not theirs?

- aspect ratio need to go back to 4:3
The game was never designed around 16:9 and adding higher resolutions is nice it should still be the same aspect ratio please cap the game at 5760 x 4,320 so as to not change the way we interact with the game on a fundamental level that changes how everything including ai and pvp work.
- Larger stashes/shared loot needs to be removed
the game is a game of inventory management at itās core.
- ebugs need to come back
getting rid of one of the core tenants of power creep is just uncalled for and wrong, we need to be able to break the game in all the same ways we could prior to resurrected that is what d2lod was balanced around and it was a perfectly balanced game.
- bots/hacks/dupes
these are quintessential to diablo as long as their has been a diablo game their has been an overwhelmingly large number of bots, hacks and dupes if you even attempt to remove them it will be throwing the game so out of itās normal balance it will be unplayable.
Once we get these changes undone or prevented from being done we can have the perfect game with no problems what so ever. d2 was the perfect game with perfect balance thatās why the 4 million people who bought the game within the first year are mostly still playing it to this day.

I havenāt mentioned your bad grammar(I care more about the arguments), but this is difficult to read. Iāve told you my solution is to solo play in full games. I want MP play with a team too.
You do know that Blizzard in an interview stated that it might happen and that the would listen to player feedback.
Do you also know what is in the Option menu under āGame Creationā on this D2R screenshot which clearly is a different version than what is on the beta?
Hypothetically speaking, could that tab include an option for personal loot? I do not know and neither do you.
All this people askig for personal lootā¦- they know they can make a private game with password and have all the loot for themselves or their friends right?
Because the only reason i see is: i want free loot for someone else carrying me like on D3. or taking advantage for the other mf player.
i played D2 for years and it always was, private game for loot, public games for exp. if in a public game you got a good item great, but the most valuable items were always poped up in a private game.
My index finger still hurts from D1.

We know. It is awesome.
Now we want to bring this awesomeness in likeminded public games.
The reason is playing together without having to worry about the loot split as much as in FFA.
The carry still has to opt-in. So he makes that choice as well. And most likely it will not even be a carry, but 8 carries. You know, like a team.
We are aware of that and we do not intend to change that. Solo games will still be the efficient way to go for items. But pLoot pubs will be a relaxing way to play a match of d2 without having to fight over loot.
Not more loot, just split loot. Simply an agreement with others who also want to play that way.
