If you’re one of the peeps botting on public seasonal bounties, could you please fix your bots? Especially the guy that glitched today and went into an endless loop of entering games then leaving them. It was blocking a 4th person entering the game.
I don’t care if you bot or not, but as someone who cut their teeth in automation, your bot clearly needs some work. Thanks in advance!
I’ve reported bots in the past. But I’ve learnt it just makes public bounties even quieter. TBH I don’t mind a good bot - they don’t start doing NRs, Vaults, Whimsydale in the middle of bounties leaving the rest of the party to carry them. They do their bounties using a proper bounty build so it’s usually fairly efficient. Which is kinda the point.
well, usually we vote kick those kind of “players”… but usually bounty pubs are a mess, and many of the times are real players with bad builds that succs more than bots, slowers and afkers
Sometimes, but I’ve had some quite good bounty experiences in the last year or so. There’ll always be someone who is doing it suboptimally - heck, I’ve only got 1.6k paragon and zero augments - but in general 2 people doing bounties is faster than 1 so I’m not complaining. AFKers I boot (generally with a warning unless it’s something egregious like forcing us to wait a minute for boss fights).
Well that’s quite an extraordinary leap. But yes, I’ve given up on any thoughts that bots would be wiped out and grown accustomed to their presence. As I said in an earlier post, they usually do a much better job at sticking to bounties than some of their living counterparts. Sad but true.
I admire your energy. As I said above, I just want to do bounties and not stop to report people, and public bounties without bots are dead quiet. Especially on the AU/NZ servers. Bots haven’t really affected me except for public bounty situations like today where a buggy one was blocking a legitimate 4th person joining our group.
I am a big fan of software automation and started my career automating RF testing rigs so it pains me to see something that clearly broke and had no fail-safe mechanism. Especially when D3 botting has been around so long that they should’ve nailed it by now.
Whether botting affects you directly or not is utterly irrelevant. Botting still impacts the game negatively as a whole. If you spot them, report them.
Asking bot devs to fix bots is borderline trolling.
We cant tell you to not overreact or exaggerate because you want your thread to be a linear discussion. Here you come in othermans thread who isn’t overreacting and says in general they dont affect him, you come to tell him they do affect. Hypocrite much?
Thanks for your thoughts but as you’ll read above, we’ve discussed our positions and it’s done now. [insert peace emoji here] His anti-botting thread is one of the longest-lived threads I’ve seen on any forum ever so it deserves some form of recognition/respect just on that account irrespective of one’s position.
Unfortunately, you’ve taken the wrong message from what I’ve said. I’m not saying it’s okay to cheat but nothing you or I say would stop them. All I’m asking is if they’re going to do it, just don’t make the game unpleasant for the rest of us.
