Plans for Pushing, Post-Patch?

Starting with barb. We get wastes to start which is awesome. I was #1 mote on ptr. Lol. Endless walk actually works really well once you figure out how to move but not move. Not having to use a flavor of time is super cool. Focus / restraint is steadier damage but im kind of sick of using it.
So, farm with waste. Push with mote.

Might also make a wizard if they dont nerf it into dust.

Yo. Long time no see around here. I don’t know you guys, but I am going to dig this build into depths of Steel Path:

Before it is too late, switch barbros. I have already attained Veteran status and Entered the Remnants of the Void clan (apparently the top clan there). This game is nothing like you have ever seen.

I’m by no means a strong or consistent player, but I’ll see if I can get around to pushing with my NS Physquake and VC builds. Always had a soft spot for those. I already have a GG HF ammy for Physquake (20% Phys/89% CHD/10% CHC/Rampage, but non-ancient) from a while back so that will be great. If I can ever get close to GR120 with that I think I’ll be happy.

For VC I’d still like to see some changes to it to make it less frustrating to use, but the follower changes potentially make it smoother already so I’ll give it a fair shot.

Seasonally, I’ll see about trying out Frenzy. I don’t think I’ve ever really touched this set, and this season it could be time to give it a shot.

That should be very doable. How much paragon have you got? And, will you play the “classic” setup with FotVP + BoD, or use Strongarms + Furnace (which is currently more powerful)?

I’m currently around P1320, and have been using FotVP + BoD. Though I’ve been inspired to switch to Furnace + Strongarms after seeing your 130 clear with that build, ha. Just missing a good strongarms for now. I’ve never been a fan of fire variant so it’s great to see phys be nearly just as good.

You should be all set. I just did a 120 with 800 allocated paragon (13k Str). If incoming damage gives you problems, try Gogok instead of Zei. If it’s still a problem, use Esoteric. (Edit: did 122, in 12:45, using Esoteric)

IK HotA has always been one of my favorite builds, but I’ve never been about the leader board, so not sure if the filters will change much.

I started playing D2 again last December so that’s got my attention now. Follower changes are interesting but not sure it’s enough to bring me back. I do still have lots of bounty mats (to me, ~2k) from the previous season, so may try to do something fun with them in NS though.

I haven’t tried pushing a ton, but 110 is about what I’ve been doing, using Esoteric. I think I should be able to do 115 off the bat with the follower changes. Then a couple augments should be enough to help reach 120 (I barely have any augmented gear across all characters).

I’m more concerned about damage for now. Might switch to Gogok maybe since it could be a middle ground between Esoteric and Zei.

Wizard for the first time ever (Fire Blades melee variant, assuming it isn’t murdered) until I get bored of it.

Push Shadow Impale and Savage Frenzy as far as I can with 1241 Paragon.

I will most likely end up doing everything with a WW barb. It surely helps that it is the reward for the seasonal journey. Probably switching between Bul Katho’s swords and Slanderer and Rogue depending on the content. As an alternative setup i will use the Frenzy once i have decent gear for it and gems for augments. I find it very tiresome to push with every set in one season but what i would like is to find primals cause every barb build i have in non-season have one third of their gear primals so it would be nice to start aiming for full primal builds. My highest seasonal push with barb was 120 a couple of seasons ago but it was with less than 1500 paragons and only 3-4 augments and no fishing. This time i am going to aim for close to Gr130 and switch back to non-seasonal to try and clear somewhere between GR135 - 140.

Welp, there goes that plan.

New plan:
Start Barb
Rend speed farm until Frenzy is ready to rock
Repeat with GoD until Impale is ready to rock
Lament Melee Wizard’s death
???
Frenzy/Impale until season ends

The CM announced that they are reconsidering the firebird set. It is unknown currently what will happen (some number change to lessen the nerf presumably)

Considering how “well” Rathma was rebuffed, I’m not particularly enthused.

Remember back when rend cleared a 140 with 10k paragon on the PTR and it was nerfed then some of it was reverted. The FB set needed a large nerf. RAXX cleared 8/8 150 attempts with an 8 minute clear to boot@8k. The set is set up for 142s at 8k. A small buff might be warranted but but that is it.

A 140 current clear is assuming you go with the Spectral Blades variant, and not everyone is a fan of that style. Any variant that isn’t SB is probably dead as it is.

I’ll still play Wiz, but it will be a little bit less exciting.

Ok and?

I love how this set is outperforming a ton of sets and some entire classes, but because its not egregiously broken the community is pissed.

Are you arguing for the sake of arguing lol? The community feels the nerf is too much; it doesn’t matter where the set currently sits. Lack of proper communication from the devs did not help.

FB was reworked to benefit all fire skills. SB is far outperforming any other variant because of various multipliers. Remove SB build and the set is likely uncompetitive.

Anyway, I don’t want to derail this thread into another FB nerf thread. I’ll leave it at that.

Saw the new tier list of maxroll today of wudi raxx and the other guys and was surprised to see frenzy so close to wwrend. Definitely gonna push with them both. 2 builds is enough for one season for me. These 2 work just fine for me. I 'll try to fully augment them both at some point

That definitely makes me more excited to push Frenzy as I was going to do that anyway. It seems since shouts benefit followers quite a bit you don’t need to use the immortality relic with them. Being able to use all available skills apparently gives a pretty decent boost in solo push.

Man I’m loving this follower rework the more I think about it. It’s about time we got it.

Hmm. I’ll be curious to see whether followers can actually survive in higher GRs without invulnerability. 60% dodge is great, but it doesn’t work on arcane, beast charges, Mallet Lord hits, etc. I’m not super optimistic. Besides which, I think only the Enchantress really has multiple abilities from the same tier that are really excellent (+10% CDR and +10% elemental damage).

I’m going to go ahead and estimate the odds of Frenzy catching Rend at approximately 0%…
