could cause problems if you want use Cube Recipe #9 for Reusable parts (from white items). I can’t turn off the pet as I still want it to pick up gold / DB.

You can buy a white item from a vendor to use in the cube.

Which vendor sells whites?

Those that sell armor and weapons. You may have to leave and restart in order see any whites.

Look at the vendors of the 5 acts.

You can buy several times the same white item.

I found another solution though. Just turn off the pet. Go to Act V - Field of Eternal . And grab 10+ whites from the racks. Then use Recipe # 9 . Then turn the pet back on. Just a bit of a hassle but still works

I just tried in two games, and that fat vendor (Tilnan or whatever his name is in English) in Act II had white items.

Those labeled as “the Collector”, they often have white items for sale.

In my session only Dalilah in Act V had one white item. I checked all the vendors in all acts. Maybe RNG. But as Strix said you can buy the same white item several time of course.

Why do you actually want to use any of those recepies when everything you find is going to be salvaged? Even white and blue items. You go Pandemonium or Temple of the First Born and get a ton of whites, and find blues anywhere. I don’t get the problem.

Because salvaging one white item will give you 8-10 Reusable parts, while cube recipe #9 can get you 100 (converted from other mats)

you drop yellow and blue items much more often. Whites don’t drop that often. So in the end you will have tons of yellows and not that much whites. From recipe you get 100 reusable parts. Which is equal to salvaging 10 white items.

It is funny, I tend to run out of ‘reusable parts’ vs. ‘veiled crystals’ and you get more mats for salvaging a white item vs a yellow item. I tend to pick up any white item I find as I am leveling and in the beginning stages of gearing, AND I STILL run out of them before yellows or blues. But, at least there are many areas that have a lot of those armor and weapon racks, Act 1 and 5 respectfully.

It’s a potential “problem” depending on how you play. If you speed run and don’t spend much time clickin’ and pickin’ and if you use some of the cube recipies a lot you can easily become short on reusables.

Every vendor. Normally you would go to a3 then a5 since they are closer to the cube.

Not every vendor. Just the ones called “such and such the Collector”. And not all of them will have whites in stock. You’ll have to check the “Collectors” in each act.

Edit:

In act 1, it’s the vendor that’s halfway between the main town and the Weeping Hollow entrance.

In act 2, it’s the fat guy down on that platform.

In act 3 and 4, it’s the Barbarian on the left of Covetous Shen, the jeweler.

In act 5, it’s the tall girl next to the little girl in the southwest part of town.

Unless this is something that’s specific to console, this is wrong information.
