so just an idea i was thinking of how about more looting options for our pet while running rifts/greaters/open world farming like a option for it to loot crafting mats and or items.
This has been covered many times over the last several years. It took them 10 years to update the followers so you never know. Maybe they will do it close to the launch of Diablo 5 or never.
It would be hilarious to be able to dismiss a pet and/or follower and they, on their own, go and collect materials, gold, and miscellaneous stuff based on various things such as their mainstat (for followers) but maybe a limited variable (like say, 1-3 act crafters, 1-5 million gold, etc., etc.) per X interval - they do need to be used for Y time first, though, to at least partially mitigate group players just starting and then leaving them behind.
Everything that pets can (or possibly could) pick up should just go into your resources stash automatically. Pets should be purely cosmetic.
I’d like auto salvage for all yellow, blue and white items.
Perhaps we can get a blacksmith pet. Or pets can go to town and salvage those items. Or salvages anything you you give them.
(On game exit, items with pet will be auto salvaged).
While on the topic, why do we still need to identify items? Cain is gone. No purpose anymore. Just let them drop identified…
Let pets have a toghle to auto pickup yellows, blues and whites…
Let the player focus more on killing stuff, less on mats.
Immortal already has auto-looting options with checkboxes for loot type, so I would hope adding something like that to pets in D4 wouldn’t be too hard. D3 may be a taller order with an older architecture… but it sure would be nice.
