People literally asking for Maphack

The last few days I see posts in some of the GR communities for support players “With Maps”.

I can’t explain how absolutely demoralizing it’s been to try pushing or doing anything involving 145-150 keys with some friends while we watch as the rest of the community is just cheating away without any repercussions. And see all these people with 3k+ paragon who have MAGICALLY not slept since the season started and farmed 24/7.

I know this isn’t really new…and cheating is pretty much the standard for a while now…but it really sucks to see.

Cheating is a problem with many games today. I play a few games regularly and one of them, all the “top” players cheat on a regular basis. I don’t really care what others do but when people who cheat are referred to as “top” or “high tier” players, those terms start to really lose their meaning.

You are right, it does suck to see. I look at it as the Tom Ripley complex. They’d rather be a fake somebody than a real nobody.

What is a map hack?
Everquest used to have 3rd party maps that you could download. Is it the same thing?

It reveals the entire map of the dungeon, so you can chart a better course to the exit.

I definitely can see how that would be helpful. I always take the wrong turn a get to dead ends. Thanks for the explanation.

It can also show other things like pylon locations and possibly even monsters too, depending on the hack itself.

Overall it allows easier preplanning the progress through the map. It can save significant amount of time, giving a massive advantage over legit players.

I always tell people “no maphack”. Haven’t been turned down for games yet though rarely get invited back… It’s so obvious when you’re playing with someone who is though.

I’d assume the hacks team is overwhelmed and maybe doesn’t care about D3 any more. When was the last banwave?

The demand for TurboHUD in multiplayer GR pushes has been an ongoing problem for years. I can honestly say that my old 150 clear didn’t use it–and I was the zBarb–but I was bounced from many teams, including some in-clan teams, for refusing to use it.

On the flip side, there’s plenty of freely-available information about what THUD does, and some (maybe most) of it should have been baked into the game. As time attacks confronted with many layers of RNG, the nature of GRs demands more information–or more control over existing variables–than the game offers. In other words, the layers of RNG present in D3 were meant for solo and group campaign play, and possibly even Torment farming and Bounties, but they’re simply obstacles to efficient, skill-based group GR pushes.

Oh boy another hater.

I play a fair amount and never see what you’re talking about.

It amazes me when I see these hate posts.

Just curious. How do you figuratively ask for map hack? Asking for a friend.

Look for people revered as “high tier” players and ask them how can I get good too?

The same.

I played “a lot” of GR in public games in ten years and never saw this kind of “requirement”

Man at this point into the game and people don’t know map load outs as soon as they are in? If the map hack isn’t in your brain allready, just quit. I get it reading is hard, but map reading also? Damn.

Radar in Dark Age of Camelot was the best

I rarely play in groups so it doesn’t bother me, but if someone told me it was a requirement before I play with them, I would just go find another game or go back to play solo. There fixed!

Pylons are spawned by proximity. Ppl should know the maps by now. The only thing they get is elite locations afaik. Its not like its a pvp thing. I dont see any benefits using it for D3. Only noobs would need it.

Thats pretty brazen.

3k isnt that special atm, some are 5k+

A friend of mine has told me that D3 on top levels nowadays absolutely requires maphack. I was shown one that cost money and only for the elite cheaters, you had to be invited to get it. It looked very advanced. you could see elites in GR, pools in open world, auto upgrade gems, etc.

My friend don’t like it but she say that she must use it to get into teams. It’s bs of course, she have gotten into a bad community and developed bad habits.

I agree. Most maps now-a-days are extremely repetitive, so I don’t really see any advantage with seeing the entire map when you first enter. There a few instances where I took the wrong turn, but the delay was minimal. I have a bigger issue with the Rift Guardian spawning on the other side of the map, then having to zig-zag through all the corridors to get to him.

If that’s true, then yes, she got into a bad community that filled her head with squashed flies.

Stating you need to cheat in order to get by is a complete load of codswallop that cheaters say to try and justify their existance.
