if youre tired of having your feedback ignored while Blizzard and any other big gaming company continues to push this kind of product or service that we DIDNT ask for make your voice be heard
Diablo Immortal is just another P2W game that relies on predatory marketing to squeeze every last penny out of players and the sad part is Blizzard is actually proud of it
write your congressmen call consumer rights protection groups heck stand outside the Blizz HQ with signs until the media starts reporting on it
make a big fuss over it after all Blizzard doesnt seem to want to discuss the matter they seem to think if they stay silent long enough people will stop talking about it
well if they dont want to talk about the problems then rest assured the players that made your company a success will be talking about it
its high time we reminded Blizzard that without us your company would be nothing but another failed gaming creation studio that wouldve closed its doors years ago
we are the players that made your company so popular by playing your games and trust me when i say we can also unmake you by no longer supporting any of your products
so go ahead and stay silent thinking you are too big to fail theres plenty of other gaming companies that have seen the blood in the water and are just looking for any opening
i guarantee you this is one fight Blizzard isnt going to win the negativity surrounding DI is too big to ignore
This is not about PC gaming. P2W is just as bad when it happens on mobile as when it happens on PC.
Neither should be accepted. Both should be made illegal.
It’s just not that big a deal to me. Obviously D:I has triggered several people on this forum. I am not one of them. I can live with it or without it. There are real issues going on in the world to worry about. One video game that is ok, not great, not bad, is not going to motivate me to action. Good luck though. Gamers should have a bigger voice. The problem is, only a select few (streamers) are included.
It is not okay to sell power for singleplayer games either. It is all bad.
Addiction is a real issue. Companies destroying society and people in their hunt for profit is a real issue.
D:I just happens to be a small piece in it.
D:I being bad never was the problem. It is completely fine that D:I is bad. A shame for hopeful Diablo fans maybe, but pretty irrelevant otherwise.
i can respect that because its true i mean our schools are being shot up unemployment/homelessness is still out of control people in the Ukraine are dying in a war and our fuel prices are higher than its been in years but i digress since this is gaming discussion so back to topic
the point is Blizzard is not only promoting this kind of unethical behavour by their silence theyre actually encouraging it and pretending everything is fine even as nearly everyone is telling them how bad the situation is and they continue to market this game despite the distasteful timing of its release
what makes the issue worse is the fact they dont even have the decency to even try and address our concerns or at the very least even try to justify their opinion which only sends the clear message that they couldnt care less what we say oh but they have no problem asking us to spend money
The reason power for cash is an issue in multiplayer games is because it gives you an advantage over other people that didn’t pay. In a single player game, where the only possible person affected is you, who are you gaining an advantage over?
This is misleading. Triggered people on this forum did not lead to D:I being banned in 2 EU countries. The issue of loot boxes and similar mechanics are relevant to the basic principles of trade and gambling.
the people trying to defend Blizzard and this game forget one little detail but when they banned it there was no DI yet
kinda hard to get triggered by something that happened BEFORE the game was even live in fact those countries officially banned it back in 2018 which was shortly after its announcement at Blizz-con
it was already such a big issue since the game wasnt even a beta test yet and they had already told Blizz no
The game, as in the enemies you fight.
Pay to win is pay to win. Other players, PvP etc. are not required in any way. Those might make it more obvious to people, but it is the same.
Genshin Impact is an extremely Pay To Win game that has been brought up from time to time in the discussions on the forum in the last weeks. It is more or less designed as a solo game, with some co-op sprinkled in here and there. The P2W and the strategy behind it, is no different from what D:I does however.
It seems like the game is likewise banned in Belgium. As it should be.
It’s just bizarre how so many people like this person think that because phone games are infested with predatory pay to win, somehow it’s a reason that we must submit to it and ignore its progression.
Borderlands series is the same way it has a ton of solo and co-op play but unlike most other games with an ingame shop it doesnt overwhelm players with tons of ads promoting their purchasable DLC etc
they actually place it on pause menus or spalsh screens that in no way is intrusive as long as you are playing the content and honestly if Blizzard had designed DI to be the same way you can bet the number of compaints would be far less
Correction: we are the remaining players
Most of the fans from the 90’s and early 2000 doesn’t seem to play anymore, at least it’s based on the multiple friends I had over the last 3 decades.
It’s too big amongst PC/Console players, as phone games got more than half the video gaming market since 2016, I assume mobile players doesn’t seem to be very worried about P2W games.
Now, I don’t try to be against you, it’s just a matter of perspective.
If I could describe what the D3 forum is and what we are, I would say that we’re what’s left of an undying community, lurking on a dark fog of pixels while waiting for D4.
It’s already an upgrade considering that there was no forum between D2 and D3… to let our voice heard.
Blizzard haven’t scored very high on PC gaming with WCIII Reforge, WoW Shadowlands, about D:I I can’t say anything yet, beside the fact that the game doesn’t attract PC gamers, the game seems to be very much alive on mobile.
