It’s a feature, not a bug… 
Now it happened to me too, but I was lucky. 
Last season it was reported as a bug by someone - which it is. And “putting” the forward portal “away” from the backward portal should be just an extremely short line of code, or basically just a little bit of math. But… It will most probably not get fixed… So it has to be a feature…
It is probably only the wobbling and one single pixel that let me chose one or the other…
