The combat voices get very irritating after hearing them for 100+ times. Is Blizzard ever going to add an option to make them less frequent, or to turn them off all together? I know I can turn voices down to 0%, but that turns off all voices.
Go take at look at the various volume options. I think you’ll find a compromise in there.
Ill be telling stories about that for a while.
Wizard had an awesome evil laugh while channelling Disintegrate in beta. That’s long gone now.
After hearing them for tens of thousands of times, it’s just so much white noise and the mind blanks 'em out.
When I play D3, I do so with sound off. Like most Blizzard games’ SFX, they grate after a very short while. Not nearly as bad as WoW where spells there sound worse than on a Super Nintendo console, but they repeat often enough that my ear goes “nope, nope, and more nope” in very short order.
PoE’s are much the same way, but I need sound on in that game as valuable currency often drops offscreen and no minimap icon comes up outside of things like exalted orbs or 6 socket and 5/6 linked items and the only way I know something of value dropped is the rather abrupt sound it makes (amplified by a pair of RTi A9s being fed by a Monolith M7X amp).
Honestly, if I could have a setting for volume that lets me pick only loot, I’d do it. That way I could keep sound on and not get irritated in either game.
