Now that Whisper of Atonement is a permanent part of the game, there should be an option to skip Urshi so that you don’t have to waste time upgrading gems you’re never going to use.
You’ll still need Urshi to upgrade Legendary Gems you’re using and augmented them past 125 GR.
Not really an option if you run speeds below that. I’m currently upgrading gems with 0% chance since I have no need of leveling duplicate gems for augment.
The GRs do need an alternative reward as an option to gem upgrades. When all gems are already high and doing low speed GRs using upgrade attempts on 0-1% chance feels like a major waste.
I suppose my reply was strictly on the need of Urshi, but I do agree with everyone that we need a better reward system for low level Grs. Maybe cap the minimum chance rate to 10% maybe?
Speed 90:s for 150 gems would be quite doable in that case though, so maybe not great. I would rather just have the option to close the rift without upgrading gems.
Forfeit your gem ups for choice of:
- n of each crafting materials (tier / 3)
- n of each bounty material (tier / 50)
- n of each infernal machine (tier / 40)
- n blood shards (tier * 3.5)
- n greater rift keys (tier / 40)
Probably best to make another game mode for this type of reward system.
Crawl Mode
Go down up to 20 floors. They get progressively harder, can’t go backwards. Can’t port to town, die or be resurrected. Loot and Exp and Enemy HP increases by 10% each floor. Every 5 floors you get a chance to locate an exit cash out. Exit rewards are calculated based on how many floors deep were traveled. Each floor has a progress meter which you have to clear before descending to the next. They could do all sorts of cool stuff with this, Exit Goblins, Merchants that appear after floor 10 up with ancient items, bosses from Campaign mode around the corners, including that Diablo from cow level. Chance to enter floor maps from the Tristram event.
Will likely never happen but it seems doable with the current engine.
Hm, getting multiple GR keys from completing one GR… not sure if this would be a good idea. Kinda defeats the purpose of normal rifts, then. I’m also not sure about the infernal machines, but anyways, those are okay as well.
I strongly support the idea of having alternate rewards, though. I mean, sure you can even upgrade on the off-chance of 0.1% but that’s more or less a waste of time and at some point even that won’t do anymore and doing upgrades that are guaranteed to fail are beyond unrewarding - more like a punishment.
So for me, especially bounty mats and normal mats would be interesting because as a solo only player it’s really annoying to farm them unless I get double bounty caches or the reward would be significantly raised when you do all bounties in a single player game.
Or give us a “skip Urshi” option when talking to Orek - at least for solo players.
So, +1 from me for that.
I understand the desire to skip Urshi but if doing speeds, why not serially upgrade the Gem of Ease to 25 and make your items level 1 if you ever want to speed level a character to level 70 by yourself.
Also, one can make a “level 1” leveling set if you get powerleveled by others (i.e. make a Born Set/Cain Set/Leric Helm with Ruby/Leoric Ring/etc from the level 70 items)…
See Grogu
Sure, but it’s nevertheless annyoing.
Plus at some point even doing that wouldn’t do any more, since, well… only so much items to use it on. And, lets assume I had the patience to actually remove the level req from every single item in my stash, not only the useful one, then it would feel like a huge waste of time.
I think letting players choose a different reward would be better in the long run.
Already did, and have all gems either at their max or at 135+. I used to level gems by this point for augment, but that’s just a waste of time given that you get gems starting at 125 easily enough now.
I agree, but it does make it less painful if you can make your leveling of alts much easier.
At least, I am not unique in having this idea ![]()
“Great minds think alike” or something like that ![]()
How about an option for Urshi to influence better luck at the Mystic for desired enchant affixes?
They could make it endlessly grindy by doing a simple fix…
Of your legendary gems, when the Guardian is defeated, 3-5 random gems are increased one level. If you do not have all of the gems (thus to “target” specific ones), only one gem is increased based on the level of the rift - below 75, it gains 1 level; between 75 and 130, 2 levels, and at 131 and above, 3 levels. Naturally, those tiers can be adjusted. And, of course, you gain a random gem if you do not have them all… Not sure this works as people would simply toss all their gems on the ground or sell them.
That would be great…
I guess the one advantage of not having to level gems for augments as often is it doesn’t feel like a waste to do those 30% or lower upgrades. I am only planning on doing two builds this season (other than my NR one, which I am not even augmenting for now) so nothing else to do but those tiny chances at success and since that is it it doesn’t feel like much of a waste.
Can we also keep our points if skipping Urshi?
When making updates, please also let us use all available chances at once on a single gem.
When doing a gr much higher than the intended gem, all up to 5 upgrades are all at 100%. So let’s just up that gem all up to 5 levels at once, in a single action, if so desired by the player.
At some point, I have no meaningfull reasons to upgrade my unused gems when doing speeds. I play casually…
Perhaps we can “collect” something that we can spent when pushing to upgrade gems we actually use. For example up the chance all the way to 100%. Could be a resource. Gained after doing GR instead of upgrading and spent after completing different GR.
Perhaps we can use bloodshards for this as well, upping its limit by much. For gaining better items, bloodshards quickly become rather useless…
