Not quite. The “PTR lead time” is start of PTR to start of corresponding season. Notice, that Perusoe mentioned PTR end date.

It hasn’t been clockwork as of late. The previous 5 seasons have all been over 4 months with S27 being 6 mos and S28 being 6.5 mos. We’re not even to 4 months with S29 yet.

It is strange that there is such a long interval between the PTR and season’s end. But that might be the anomaly, not the end of the season. The end of the season may have always been in the 2nd half of Jan, but maybe the PTR was purposely held early, perhaps to avoid the holidays.

They probably disbanded the D3 team and shifted them into other jobs and now notice some work remains to be done for the new season with none to do it.
Or nobody even notices that a season start is hanging in the air because nobody is responsible for D3 anymore.

There hasn’t been a D3 team for years. In recent times updating D3 has been the responsibility of a very small portion of the D4 team whenever they had spare time.

Then it’s pretty clear to me, season 30 D3 will come after season 3 D4, or at the same time :))

If 30th season does not start tomorrow, it will start in late february or march. Cuz diablo4s new season starts in 20days. If devs want to two games season start date in the same period yea it will happen in january…

Most prior season starts did not have to “compete” with the D4 schedule. Also, Christmas holidays impact the release schedule.

I’m already playing season 30. I just put a post-it note over any part of the screen that says ‘29’ and write in ‘30’. Duh. It’s how you rotate season faster.

Willing to bet theses will be the dates of season starts:

D4 season 3 start: Feb 6th
D2R season 6 start: Feb 8th
D3 season 30 start: Feb 9th
