Not getting good drops

I’ve been playing female demon hunter and my partner plays the male demon hunter. I’m at paragon 70 he’s a little behind. We are on torment 3 and I’ve had pretty much all crap drops and he’s getting everything cool and good. Good legendary and even an ancient. I’d say about 95% of the legendary that drops go to him. So I’ve been working hard playing for hours and still nothing. I’m ready to quit :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Are you two playing together? He could always share with you. If not, what exactly are you playing mainly: Rifts? Bounties? GRs? Each of these have different drop frequencies.

Maybe try upgrading rares in the cube.

Unfortunately, a lot of RNG goes into getting good items. It tends to even out at the end.

We are playing together, bounties, GR, and rifts. Will try upgrading But not enough material yet. Sorry I’m new to the d3 abbreviation so I’m not sure what RNG means.

RNG stands for Random Number Generator. Basically it’s just a shorthand way of saying everything is random. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes (most of the times) you don’t. And sometimes you will get a streak where a lot of things you want tend to drop, while other times you get a streak where nothing useful drops. It’s just the nature of the game, unfortunately.

Oh okay thank you for clarifying that, makes more sense then.
One more thing. He did try sharing with me but if we can share we don’t know how. He did drop something but I couldn’t pick it up.

Are you playing on PC or console?

On PC, you can only share certain items. You can share white, blue, or yellow (normal, magic, and rare) items you find, but nobody cares about those. You cannot share crafted items, or items that you get from Kadala.

For legendary and set items, you can only share them with players that are already in the game when the item drops. Otherwise, they are account-bound. Items that can be shared will have the names listed on them, and they can only be shared for 2 game hours before becoming account-bound.

There is an issue for players that have just purchased the game. It seems for the first 72 hours, they cannot trade with other players even if they are in the same game. Some have found that changing your password forces the game to update if it had been more than 72 hours since you purchased the game.

If you are on console, unfortunately I have no idea how trading works there.

Thanks so much for all the great info, it’s helped a lot. We are on console, it seems there is no trading then unfortunately. But if we ever play on pc at least I know now. I’ll keep grinding for now and hopefully can eventually get the build I want.
