No Yang's. No Crimson's

So I am nearly done with yet another Demon Hunter Season Journey, and I have yet to find the Captain Crimson’s Trimmings plan, or a Yang’s Recurve bow.

As you know, these two items make the Unhallowed Essence set shine, and I can’t find them.

I have upgraded hundreds of Rare bows with no luck, and I am knocking on the door of P500. At this point, I have no hope for finding the Crimson plan, but I may still get the Yang’s*. Sadly, it will probably be too late to really enjoy it. Same for Crimson. If I don’t find the Yang’s, I have no hope of pushing GRs with the UE set.

Something is screwy with the drop weighting and chances this Season.

*Currently I am using a crafted Ancient Unbound Bolt, which as bows go, ain’t half bad, but without the MS IAS, and RCR of the Yang’s, it’s a pain to use.

Your problem is that you’re p500 after 2 month. It means u’re doing solo grinding, which is fine in itself, but the reason was NOT designed for you. Most players season is designed for get to p500 in 1-2 days. Season is designed for power players who play in groups and manipulate (not abuse) the season buff to do high gr’s. Only benefit to you is getting extra stash space if you haven’t gotten 4 yet and some sigil…

Only way you can get it obviously is either to find, gamble for it, cube, or join pub games and keep asking until someone drops it or you…

No, I’ve already completed the Season Journey to Guardian 4 times this Season, once with a Wizard, and on one of them, I finished the whole thing with an Ancient Windforce and never saw a Yang’s, and on another, never saw Crimson’s. With the Wizard, I finished Guardian without seeing Crimson’s, but then it dropped some time after.

So I have little hope of finding these items on this account (Slamboney).

I understand that. Perhaps your acc is super borderline bugged, who knows.

But, I am just saying, the reason is not designed for us, casual single players

Drops have nothing to do with accounts. The game does not care who is playing. It would be kind of funny if it were true, but it does not work that way.

It could be just bad luck on the seed day.

You may wonder what I mean by that. Have you ever been searching for an item, drops, Cube, Kadala, and the thing just will not appear? For two or three days you might be doing this and you don’t see the item once? And then the next day four, five, or six of them drop?

Any electronic RNG system needs a “seed value.” This is a starting number from which the system proceeds to select random numbers. I’ve always thought that the seed value for the RNG system in this game is based on the day of the week. That would explain to me why on one day a certain item I’m looking for drops multiple times, where it didn’t drop for days before, or days after.

No you haven’t, there’s 9 Legendary bows you can get from upgrading.

… I just crafted some bows, the 4th was a Yang’s Recurve. I guess today’s the day you should go craft some bows!!

upgrade rares whit the cube maybe?

^^ Jesus…really?

Interestingly enough, one just dropped for me. It’s crap, but yes, I agree.

No, but as we’ve seen with players that can’t get Crimson’s and send their unopened caches to a new LV 1 character on the same account and then suddenly get the plans, there does appear to be a character related seed that can prevent the plans from ever dropping. Hence the devs were ultimtaely forced to do what they did in 2.6.8 and force all plans to drop from caches until you had none left to get.

But that still doesn’t work right, or no one would be complaining about not getting the Crimson plans…

And 10 minutes later…Captain Crimson’s plans just dropped…LOL.

I guess I’m just impatient…

And Bingo! Yang’s from the Cube. Today is Yang’s day…

This hasn’t hit live yet. They just talked about it being added to the PTR patch. You really need to keep up. lol

If you had read the thread, this has been mentioned by the OP.

But he hasn’t found a Yang’s, which means the build is near useless. Hell I have yet to find a decent ancient one for my entire season, and I have salvaged 10 of them, even tried reforging a couple.

Must be nice to be so judgy.

Game on.

Well, just got a Yang’s from the Cube…and one dropped earlier, which was bad, and Reforging made it even worse.

But the one I just upgraded into has a low damage roll, but 11% Disc, 188% MS, and a double RCR roll, which made it 54.1%, so I can work with that…

It also rolled with 8% damage, and I just rerolled the Damage bonus to 1190-1478 (1199-1490 possible), which made it a 2741.3 DPS weapon. Very workable, so I can easily finish Guardian with that. Going to do my GR70 right now…

LOL…two in a row! But this second one is crap…

Good Grief! The Primal Soul-O…Primal Ancient Irontoe Mudsputters!

And this is still the biggest problem this game has. There are no intermediate pieces of gear to make a build work until you get the BIS pieces. If we had a smooth gearing process we wouldn’t need legendaries to rain from the sky. Hopefully, they fix this in D4.

As for the OP, RNG is RNG. I have had seasons where I have gotten my first Yang’s after p600, and other seasons where I have gotten all 13 BIS pieces (not perfectly rolled) by p50. This season, I decided to play WD because I thought it would be fun with the Seasonal Theme and a Htooth build. I didn’t get my Sacred Harvester, Lakumba’s, Short Man’s Finger, or my Tasker and Theo until I reached P600. By then, I was burnt out on running low rifts and bounties and ended my season.

The sad fact is, when you build a game completely around RNG, someone is going to be in the 99th percentile and someone is going to be in first percentile for RNG love. Hopefully, they fix this crap too in D4.

Shirley, you can’t be serious.

5 Seasons ago playing HC I could not get a compass rose to drop, for my Garg WD, until I hit para 800+ then the first crap one dropped and not long after over 2 dozen crappy ones dropped.

This does happen, which my story above illustrates.
The only thing one can do is blindly over and over farm with out giving thought to what you want which may impede you.

Eventually, that item will drop.
It really does suck tho when this happens.

My hat’s off to you in sticking with it!

Just checked StonePro’s profile and he got his yangs.
Not ancient or primal but not a horrible roll.

Glad it worked out for you!

Er, how can you know it doesn’t work right? Did the PTR already come up and I missed it?

It happens.

In season 7, I played DH across 3 accounts… on the main account I dropped 3 ancient Yangs… one I passed to my second account, one I gave to friend who never had an ancient Yangs, and the last one came from gambling so I was stuck with that one.

My last account dropped nil Yangs by the time I unlocked the stash tab which was where I stopped. I was P400 or so. I used a well rolled Odyssey’s End in place of Yangs… just for that extra bit of damage. It did the job OK.

But yeah, as much as I enjoy playing UE MS, gearing it up can be super frustrating since you really need a cubed Dawn for perma Vengeance/hatred regen, and the set is heavily geared towards MS gear… really wish they’d add on CA, Chakram and EA support by default to the set… maybe even strafe… just so that we have so choices when gearing up.

The seed value is affected by the size of your tin-foil hat and how tight it fits. Obviously you need to get it refitted.

Thanks, but that one was a couple Journeys ago. I’m now playing this one:
