No Shrine/Pylon

just did a gr98 rift and not 1 Shrine/Pylon on ALL 8 floors, is this how you guys are stopping the lag?
Just did a second gr98 and once again 5 floors and 2 Shrine/Pylon.
I’m guessing it’s time to not bother with this game.

Most likely the Pylons spawned in a corner you didn’t check and you just left them behind.

I see so by me looking in all the corners and so I missed them in the corners,
I’m uploading a video to youtube so that people can see what I’m talking about!

While I can’t answer your question directly, I can tell you that pylon spawn rules are more complicated than they first appear. basically:

  • when you enter a rift, it decides the amount of pylons you can get, this amount will always be between 2 and 4
  • you start the rift with a 1% chance to spawn a pylon.
  • for every 1% of progress you accomplish, spawn chance increases by 3%.
  • when a pylon spawns, your chances get reset to 1%.
  • pylons spawn in specific, predefined locations on each map.
  • if you uncover a pylon spawning point on the floor you’re on, you won’t be able to spawn there (otherwise known as de-spawning).
  • spawning points have a fog of war clearance range (i.e. you just need to be near a spawning point, without actually having to uncover the point on the map, for the area to spawn/despawn).
  • once the rift guardian spawns, no more pylons will spawn

so if you enter a rift and uncover all pylon spawn points on a floor before meeting or getting near enough to the 100% spawn chance, you won’t get a pylon on that floor.

It also means that with a lot of bad luck - especially while farming, but also while pushing - you can get a rift without pylons or with just the one.

and so if that is the case then how is it that a Zdps can do a gr150?

The used the season theme to get kills.

I’m just providing you with the info about how pylons work. I don’t know about your specific situation, but maybe after looking at that you might be able to look at it under a new light

Here is video of 1 of the runs.

looks like a perfectly normal unlucky run to me. the rift decided it would give you just 2 pylons, you get one at the ten minute mark and then don’t quite get enough progress to get another one.

Believe me, I feel your pain, I’ve been there a hundred times. But, again, it looks like a normal, frustratingly familiar rift to me.

Nothing left to do but leave game, re-enter and pop another key

and for it to happen 4 times in a row?

if they’re like that run, they’re perfectly fine.
I suggest you search for “Raxxanterax Diablo 3 Complete Greater Rift Guide” on youtube. He provides an in depth guide on pylons, among a lot of other things which are very useful to begginers and veterans alike when it comes to pushing greater rifts.

or so just did other gr98 and samething 2 pylons/ shrines, and no I’m not going to look a a person who groups only to see what they have to say! something is wrong!

OK, if that’s what makes you happy… I can only share what I know, I can’t force you to learn it :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t see a lack of shrines/pylons being the issue with that GR.

Your gamma settings are burning my eyes away.

Maybe the pylons left the rift to buy some sunglasses.

Also, why are you taking 8 floors to play a GR98? To date, regardless of GR level, I’ve never gone past floor 4.

Just curious…
