No Sets Left Behind

This patch is one of the biggest progress points we’ve seen to balance different classes and sets so I’m very excited to play overall. But despite all the progress I feel there are still a few sets that are completely irrelevant and ignored. These sets are basically just worse than a LoD build in every way and there is no reason to play them due. Based on the current standards every 6 piece set needs to at least compete with LoD or the other sets in terms of damage etc and there are several where there is literally no reason to ever play them vs LoD when LoD adds around 10000% damage and 60% toughness.

So these are the changes I think need to be added to this patch:

Rathma: You gain 1% damage reduction for 15 seconds each time one of your minions deal damage. Max 60 stacks.
(6) Set: Each active Skeletal Mage increases the damage of your minions and Army of the Dead by 1000% up to a max of 10000%.

Trag Oul: (4) Set: While at full Life, your healing from skills is added to your maximum Life for 45 seconds, up to 150% more.
(6) Set: Your Life-spending abilities deal 9000% increased damage and your healing from skills is increased by 100%.

Immortal king:
(6) Set: While both Wrath of the Berserker and Call of the Ancients is active, you deal 8000% increased damage.

Tal Rasha = completely obliterated.

Valor

  • remove Heaven’s Fury from it and make it purely a FotH set.
  • new 2pc bonus should increase Armor by 1% for a max of 50%.
  • increase damage bonus of Khassett’s Cord of Righteousness from 170% max to 400-600%.
  • increase max damage of Darklight to 1500%.

I think this deserves its own thread.

Ya I think talk rasha and firebird both seem lackluster but don’t really play wiz so not sure what’s an appropriate buff.

Valor I like the idea of pure fist of heavens but not sure if heavens light should be completely nixed or not.

Well LoD in most classes are weak or weaker than a set or two in the same class. So technically LoD type builds need a buff to compete with most classes. It’s just the difference in you can utilize “more different items” but then again…all LoD sets that are worth a grain of salt use specific items.

You want valor to literally only use 1 button?

I don’t think that this patch is to be the last patch on balancing the sets. This is probably the first of many. Hopefully after this patch you will have at least every class that has one build that can clear a GR130 at 5k paragon. Then from there it will be a process of buffing other sets to bring them in line with the strongest sets that can clear that high of a GR. Till you have enough variety in pushing that you are not forced to play only one set and one build of that set.

Yeah I’m guessing well see more based on the last few seasons. This patch hits a lot of things but still are many skills and sets that are very subpar.
