the ptr was scheduled for 1 week. We have 5 days left now. There are a lot of broken things on the ptr that may need an update and then have to be tested again. For example, Shadow still works with Natalyas and the potion effect with the shrines and pylons is way too strong for one season. When is the patch supposed to come and will the ptr maybe be extended?

Just because the PTR notes said it was 1 week, doesn’t necessarily mean that it will only be 1 weel. Just like everything in the PTR is subject to change before going live, so can the PTR length as well 
you have to be able to wait.
you need to understand that a large team is no longer working on this game.
this game does not bring a lot of profit, but it requires costs to maintain performance.
I’m glad Blizzard is bringing something new to this game and hasn’t shut down the servers yet. just wait.

Keep in mind Diablo 4 is coming out in June. From June to December diablo 3 will most likely lose 50% of it’s player base. There’s a good chance this is the final real season, meaning subsequent seasons will be repeats or small changes if any. I do feel like they will extend this PTR another week due to balancing and bugs but who knows.
We will see about that. A lot of people are speculating based on nothing. Diablo 3 is a great complement game to D4. It is also a great change of pace to D4. So some players won’t like D4 and will hang around and others may play both, but only playing D3 when a new season arrives (much like they do now). D3 is great in short bursts like that.
Well actually 4 days left, you don’t count the day they’re taking it down. I could see this going either way. By now everyone should know not to waste their time with bugged stuff…report it then move on with legit runs. If everyone did that there would be no reason for an extension, unfortunately so many testers just love spending all their time running bugged stuff it skews test results and delays things.
S28 has been delayed long enough though, this time Blizzard might not budge and to that I say good.
Testers that spend all their time playing around with bugged stuff really don’t deserve extra testing time.

Man i hate that people always strat to bury D3, just because a new title comeing. Not every people will like or try D4.

i feel you Above all, I hate the people who just say yes, Diablo 4 is coming, Diablo 3 is dying and Blizzard can just leave the season as it is on Ptr. If Blizzard doesn’t want to test anything, we wouldn’t need the ptr
Patch already came. It is the PTR. You mean to ask “when will the patch go live?” And that is easy - after PTR.
They could extend the PTR if there is sufficient cause for it. Fixing a few things, such as what has been described, is not technically challenging as they can simply remove X from the list of conditionals for the if:then loop blocks.
Other changes, like possibly allowing altar nodes to be disabled, would be a but more coding, maybe - depends on how it was implemented in the first and second places and whether 666 souls were sacrificed at HQ.
By selecting it as a shorter PTR they’ve already strongly indicated this season start is on a bit of a time crunch.

You can hate it all you want. These are facts and nobody said d3 is dead and nobody said everybody wants to play D4. A large chunk of the d3 and d2r population will be migrating over from June to December. The first 6 months of a video game release is usually the most popular especially when it fits between summer break and holiday sales. Sure some of that population may return if they dislike D4, especially if they impose the P2W they swear isn’t going to happen (I wouldn’ t hold my breath).

A lot of people are speculating based on nothing.” Actually it’s based on business practices in the gaming industry and they would rather cannibalize their player base from a low revenue game to a newer, shinier game with cosmetic micro transactions. You have to understand profit margins on digital cosmetics is astoundingly high. It is in Blizzard’s best financial interest to knock D4 out of the park and fade out D3.

You want to speculate, fine, admit you’re speculating. It isn’t like there isn’t an argument to be made that it may be the final season, but pretending like it’s more than mere speculation without at least something concrete from an actual source is disingenuous.
Really, where did you get this FACT from? I would love to read this and educate myself.

It’s maybe D3 final season on PC, but not on console. On console, it’s a money printer. There are no servers and Blizz doesn’t police or provide tech support. All they literally do is sell copies of the game…and push patches. I’ve been playing another “playlist” game like that for years now, Ubisoft’s Division 1. No patches for 6-7 years, rotating “event” auto-launches every few weeks…still fun. Still thousands play.
Nor will it be the last season for Diablo 3 on PC. people just go crazy and believe that just because Diablo 4 comes out, no one plays Diablo 3 anymore. For example, it’s not the case that nobody plays old Pokemon games anymore just because newer ones are out. this is super stupid. The server costs for Diablo 3 won’t make Blizzard poor either.

I said final REAL season. I meant there may be other seasons but Blizzard will have less of a reason to put as much effort into them since it’s roughly 11 years old and the next iteration is months away.
Blizzard as you may know is a corporation. As such, their goal is to increase revenue and keep shareholders happy. The only money Blizzard makes off Diablo 3 is game sales which are currently moderately priced and often cheaper on sale. Diablo 4 is nearly double that price for the extreme version (insane to me) and will have microtransactions for cosmetic items and if it’s anything like their other games they will be more overpriced than competitors microtransactions.
A common practice, even more common than you may think is the following.
Planned obsolescence. Reoccurring more often in the modern age with so many new products released. Iphone 14?, Windows 11, Diablo 4. It’s not profitable to maintain older out of date system when you can sell newer technology at a premium.
If you disagree I’m sorry. If you think the company that brought you Diablo Immoral is looking out for the consumer, close your eyes and hold out your hands, I have a surprise for you.
So in short, you have no facts to back up your claim - OK.

What claim are you talking about? That a large group of people will move from D2 and D3 to D4? How is that not a fact? Diablo 2 is coming up on 23 years and 3 is coming up on 11. People that enjoy both games, myself included, I still have my d2 battlechest box, have been waiting for the next journey. You would be living in a fantasy world thinking players won’t switch to d4 upon release.
It is not a FACT because it hasn’t happened yet, and we cannot predict the future. Is it a prerequisite to purchase D4 to play D2/D2R/D3 - NO, that is a FACT. Therefore, you ASSUME that the majority of players will go to D4 - ASSUMPTION. Is that clear enough for you?
