No mail after Season 33 end

Dear Blizzard. Why you have stolen all my items from season? Season have ended but there is no mail with items. Can you return me my items?

Same with me, not only my paragon levels were not transferred from Season to non-Season, but also all my items farmed and stored in stash in Season (none of those was transferred to me via mail in non-Season). Looks like Blizzard screwed up again for this “official” seasonal ending.

Same here, Got nothing, my paragon didn’t add up as it was supposed too.

I had about 1670 on season and 830 off season. And I ended up with 658 paragon. Thats so far of what It should been.

I didn’t get a mail with the stuff in my stash.

Sick. Lovley.

The same is true here. I received only the items in my character bag, but I did not receive mail for all the items acquired during my season run. I logged out and rebooted the game, but nothing regarding any mail.

Likewise I didn’t get my stash transferred. Hope we can get a blue post about this. Will we get our items or not?

Anyone who logged in during the brief shutdown had their items and xp sent to Non-Season then.
If you played Season after it was reinstated, nothing you gained will have transferred.

Anything left in the stash, any mats, gold, and paragon will be lost if you were playing during the “blip”. Only items on your character, or in your character inventory came over. This includes your followers

The only players so far that haven’t suffered are from two perspectives:

  1. Those that were not playing just before, during or just after the blip.

  2. And those that used a personal rollback once the season restarted to fix their season issues.

If you are not one that falls into those two categories, then your items will be gone.

And it gets worse.

Those that played after the season ended early, but before the season restarted, and had merged their gear, their paragon and moved items around on their character lost even the items on the character when the season ended again.

So yeah, its a mess.

That is not my experience. For the record, I logged on between the premature end and the restart, saw the season was over, and assumed I’d missed the memo. I collected the mail for my SC characters and assigned the NS paragon. Then I went to bed. When I logged back in later to collect my HC mail, I saw my characters were seasonal again, with stash and altar cleared. Confused, that’s when I checked the forums. I took a few days off to let the dust settle, then played the restarted season, SC and HC, enough to complete the altars and to get back to roughly 3/4 of the paragon level I had before.

Long story short, all items on my characters (worn plus inventory) are still there after the season end. None of the items in my stash got mailed, though. It looks like some fraction of my post-restart paragon experience transferred.

That matches what many others and myself experienced. But none of the paragon will have transferred. I monitored that part close, and that and materials did not increase and its likely you really didn’t get any transferred either, just FYI.

I am missing everything from my season 33 character that I did after the initial screwup, which is basically 90 percent of my character. The only thing the game didn’t take off of me was what my character was already wearing, and actually in the inventory on my character.

Everything else was taken off of me after the game switched season 33 characters to non-seasonal. It looks like they did a rollback, to a rollback. Which makes zero sense whatsoever.

Is this statement an observation or it was Blizzard plan right from the start? I mean did they warn anyone that such thing will happen? Any official warning or explanation? Was I suppose to know it beforehand?.. Should I insist that Blizzard are obliged to restore my items? Should all victims of this glitch (or “plan”?) continue with claims? Or just let it go?

It’s an observation. I have no idea what, if anything, Blizzard plans to do.

This is mostly an observation by multiple players. Not their plan.

No.

No.

No way you could have. None of us had any idea.

You could ask, but I’m not sure there is much they can do.

Problem is, this doesn’t effect everyone the same. There seem to be 3 scenarios regarding those that played after the blip:

  • People that didn’t get affected at all.
  • People that only lost items in stash, paragon and mats.
  • People that lost nearly everything after the second end.

Those things were depending on what the players did during the blip.

Keep in mind, this has never occurred before. I doubt even Blizzard has a clue what would happen.

Blizzard keeps on ticking and  giving us a licking!

(Just like Timex…   sort of)

Not second. Its third time in a row. 1st was abrupt ending of s33. 2nd was buggy and faulty re-activation with people loosing everything in season or gaining non-seasonal bonuses. And now 3d time with no post-season mail.

You can dice it however you want. Its a colossal screw up, or a comedy of errors, but not everyone is laughing in here.

Lets not forget this was the last official statement on the forum:

I don’t blame Pez, but there is a serious lack of communication…

Yeap my bad. The 1st and the 2nd are worth to split.

The first screw-up was not a “screw-up screw-up”, it was just a timing mistake. The season ended correctly, yet prematurely - everyone got all their season stuff added to non-season.

If only Blizzard let it stay that way, everything would be okay.

But then the screw-up happened - they revived the season, causing huge mess, which resulted in the Altar reset to zero, emptied Stash and whatnot.

Now, what you call a third screw-up is just a consequence of that revival. It’s not another screw-up. It’s just the software was not prepared to handle the season revival and just went “normally”, causing trouble because of the revival.

I think this happened (highly simplified):

  • After the season end they decided to revive the season, thus they set a flag “season on” on the server.
  • Then they run a database query and set the flag “seasonal on” on all characters that were active during the season.
  • There must be some kind of a database trigger, that merges seasonal resources with non-seasonal and starts the countdown of the mailed items for you (notice, that the countdown does not start when the season ends - only after you log in for the first time after the season end). So, whoever logged in at that time, the trigger set a flag “merge done”.
  • They run a database query removing the flag “awaiting merge” on all accounts that did not have “merge done” flag set and removed any resources (including mail) from the available-to-merge pool
  • (2 weeks later) the real season end comes, normal procedure kicks in - the software looks for the flag “merge done” - if anyone has it set already (from 2 weeks ago), gets nothing
