No mac support is a big mistake

Here are more Mac statistics per country for Blizzard games:
Below you will find stats on the top five countries by active daily participation.

Russia – 8.68%
France – 6.92%
Brazil – 5.91%

I can sort of almost maybe understand a little tiny bit why you wouldn’t support Linux, but dropping Mac support is so beyond unbelievably boneheaded it beggars belief. You’re telling me that you won’t cater to a market where they are willing to pay money for free applications? I wonder what moron came up with that idea. I may have jested in the past
“if you refuse to support Linux now you should rethink Mac support because we have more users than when you started supporting Macs”
What I meant by that was, if you supported Linux you would have more potential customers. I mean these people pay 2 grand for what I can get on PC for $450… I can’t imagine Mac users seeing that you drop Mac support and go
“wow I gotta suddenly buy a PC”
No they are going to skip giving you money. If you think Blizzard fanboys are bad, wait until word gets out in full force that you refuse to support Apple products.

The little I know about the matter is that the problem really is that it’s Apple that doesn’t support the gaming industry.

So that the blame from Apple users should be directed at Apple and not Blizzard (and maybe Apple users should also blame themselves for wanting to play games on Apple computers?).

This again? It’s a business decision. Making and maintaining a dedicated client for Mac wouldn’t provide enough return in investment, so they’re cutting off completely. Macs represent such a tiny portion of the playerbase it’s not worth it.

Also, there’s Boot Camp.

Apple makes computers? They are just a cellphone company.

Pretty much everything I’ve heard about companies that used to support Mac no longer doing so is because Apple keeps changing stuff around to make game development more trouble than it’s worth.

At some point, I can’t blame them for not want to jump through hoops given the playerbase just isn’t large enough.

Also The Tias (I believe it was him) wrote about Apple using OpenGL is a problem for game developers.

Buying MAC for gaming is even bigger mistake.

You can use Windows on MAC and if you dont want it is your choice.

This is all that needs to said. OP can delete the thread now.

This is like buying a car, then being mad at the car manufacturer because you can’t take it out on the water because the car isn’t a boat.

Apple users sure do whine a lot about nothing.

it is known that apple doesnt make PC for games . many times they can play games but its not their thing.
it is not big mistake. in order Diablo 4 to look as good as it is . you need better GPU CPU . Apple doesnt cut it for gaming .

Bootcamp doesn’t work on the m1 and m2 chip, I use a mac mini at work. I should know. I don’t play games on it to begin with but I think it is a HUGE mistake to not support Apple, despite them changing things constantly. Yes as a user I find it annoying that they constantly change things. I have an older intel mac at home. I was told “if you want to game on something other than Windows get a Mac.” So I did. Now you all want to take games away from me? Seems arbitrary and ignorant.

So not getting Diablo 4 is nothing to you?

Whoever told you that is not a smart person.

Granted I’d prefer more options but if you want to game on something other than Windows, get a console. Windows is basically the only option on PC worth a damn when it comes to gaming.

Hell even Linux would be a better choice than Mac because at least you can tinker with it until it mostly works.

It’s not really a huge mistake. The playerbase is really small while at the same time there’s a lot of technical hurdles to overcome to port games to Mac.

Traditionally Blizzard is a company that supported MacOS, but they’ve dropped that in recent years. They didn’t do it just because “lol screw Mac users”.

They did it because Apple seems determined to make it not worth developer’s time to bother with their system unless you’re making a mobile game and are using iOS.
