Playing season 34 on PS4, Ive not gotten a single crucible to drop while playing the new season. Is the PS4 version buggy, how do I fix this problem?

I was completing a Season Journey Objective for Chapter 4 by running my first Greater Rift Level 21. I got my first Angelic Crucible along with the Bane of the Powerful.
(Now that I’ve posted that, I’ll probably never see another one. 
)

Fix the problem by playing on higher difficulty, and grind faster
by the time i hit 1000 paragon, and fully prepared 4 characters to play, i had more than 50 crucibles, in about 12 hours of time played

That’s actually true. Once I was at max torment, I had a lot of crucibles.

Yep. Higher difficulty levels definitely have a much greater chance of dropping crucibles. You can still have bad luck with RNG and only get a few in a given time span, but if you were on a lower difficulty level it’d likely be zero, maybe one if you were lucky. And they only drop for LV 70 characters, so keep that in mind.
