New wizard set?

Hi diablo devs, can I give you an idea of what I’d love to see for the new wizard set that’s incoming for diablo 3?

I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a dedicated DISINTEGRATE SET!!! right now we have a set for fire skills, elemental skills, archon, and finally slow time and wave of force… And while we do have certain items that INCLUDE disintegrate (ie mantle of channeling and deathwish) we only have ONE ITEM that is specifically for and exclusive to disintegrate - HERGBRASH’S BINDING which reduces the cost to disintegrate by 50-65%

I would love to see the new wizard set focus exclusively on disintegrate!!! Maybe give it the ability to be all elements at once for a two set bonus, increase it’s damage by 5,000-10,000% for a 4 set bonus, and then the 6 set be that disintegrate summons stationary orbs around monsters that also cast disintegrate in varying directions… That would just be out of this world!

I’d really love to see something like that!!!

A channeling set should include all channeling skills (such as Arcane Torrent, Ray of Frost, and Disintegrate), not just one of them.
Also:

Hergbrash’s Binding isn’t exclusive to disintegrate and does in fact includes Ray of Frost as well as Arcane Torrent in it’s legendary power.

hmm… I think a mirror image set might be more interesting. Its supposed to be an end game skill on par with explosive blast and archon, but has very little use.

There are lots of items that boost channelling skills already, many of which can enter high level play.

But we don’t have a set around them… What did the new crusader and monk sets do eh? Enhanced heaven’s fury with a new legendary item to compliment it, and enhance one monk skill. Arcane torrent is dumb and ray of frost isn’t nearly as grand as disintegrate… Besides, is all you do is pick apart others ideas and suggestions? Because IMHO you really shouldn’t do that.

I submitted a suggestion to the devs on the forums as we were instructed to in their blog post… And all you guys want to do is criticize, demean, and pick it apart because YOU think it’s dumb… Well it wasn’t meant for you now was it??

The new crusader set first only buffed fist of the heaven, they had added heaven’s fury at fans suggestion. As such the Crusader set buffs 2 skills instead of one.

That’s your opinion. There are players who liked Ray of Frost and/or Arcane Torrent more than Disintegrate. You should avoid taking criticism so personally.

You suggested a Disintegrate set, and I merely stated that such set should include all Wizard’s channeling skills. You also claimed that Hergbrash’s Binding solely benefits Disintegrate, when that’s incorrect.

Also nobody said that your idea is dumb, and I certainly don’t think so either. In fact, it would be a decent enough set if it included all of the Wizard’s channeling skill instead of one.

Shroud of the Temporal Maji

2pc: Teleport gains 5 charges and the Safe Passage rune. Teleport regenerates a charge every 7 seconds.

4pc: While channeling, release a Wave of Force per tic, and gain a shield of 15% total life that refreshes every tic.

6pc: Teleporting while channeling leaves behind a clone that continues to channel for 5 seconds. Gain 2000% damage for each active clone.

I’d like to add 2 supports.

ARCHMAGE’S VICALYKE
Upon creating any clone (Mirror Image, Fracture, Vaxo, Temporal Maji) you gain a 30% chance to instead summon an Elite clone that deals 150% damage, and lasts twice as long.

Hitting an enemy within 15 yards has a chance to ward you with shards of Arcane energy that explode when enemies get close, dealing 320% weapon damage as Arcane to enemies within 15 yards and are launched along the path of any channeled skill. Shard damage is changed to that of the channeled skill.

Personally, I think if they’re going to do another set for the Wizard it should be element specific. Say a set build around cold spells and runes. This gives the player much more options on what spells and supporting legendary items they want to use instead of hog-tying us into 3-4 specific skills and very specific legendary items you might not even like using.

At this point, I can only dream that they would fix firebird (get rid of ignite and needing more than 1 fire skill).

Back at the beginning of Reaper of Souls when the firebird set was first put into the game, that was the set I used because you could just use disintegrate and the continual fire skill would proc all the bonuses and make you insanely powerful.

Ever since they destroyed firebird with the Nerf bat to the point that it’s just a dead, bloody mess, I’ve made my own build with the legendary gems (now using legacy of dreams because … Reasons) and I made a really sexy fire / ice build that easily destroys the season journey through guardian and gets me all the seasonal rewards… Like the angelic goblin pet…

Granted it’ll never be able to do more than GR 80-85, but I never play to top the leader boards or be the best or the fastest. I play to have fun and get away from the icky stresses of life. It would just be cool to have a set based on the skills I use… Which right now is disintegrate disintegrate disintegrate… And it’s a fun build to play with the ice bombs going off proccing the bane of the trapped from 50 yards away … It’s super fun and really pretty to watch too.

Thats actually been suggested a lot. But the play style would be more akin to the DH Marauder wouldn’t it. I like to see something elemental, cold seems to be the monks forte. I really think an insane arcane orb build offering would be a lot of fun as a lot use that for T16. Especially if the mechanics of it effected a sizable area instead of the way it’s been since season one.

This is what i would like too, because i love Ice Mages, so i’d like to have this option for my Wizard <3

Maybe a set that boosts damage of the same type?

Like next hit does 400% extra damage from same type, stacks x times and all stacks are lost if hit by different elemental type.

Acts like a reverse tal rasha set… could also have benefits to some skills.

Not sure if it should replace the firebird set or just be a new one, but a fire only build with this would be compared and the losing set criticised.

Ok, now you can take all the channeling items and lod gem = set with 10000% multiplier. Or tal’s one. Why we need whole set for such simple and boring ability? Channeling itself is boring. You just stay and push button. No place for creativity and skill.

Mirror copies, hydras, or one of elements: lighting, ice or arcane would be nice.

Imo, it should be possible to have the Tal-Rasha set altered so that attacking with only one element would still give you the set’s buffs, while using multiple elements would get you the buffs faster. This way single elemental builds can be made with Tal-Rasha though it would take a bit longer to get your buffs going than it would going with multi-elemental builds.

I personally want a Hydra set, and think it would be cool if we could increase the hydra limit to 3+ and whenever the player channels a spell, your Hydra’s will as well.

Would fit that Hydra and channeling niche a lot of people want.
