i just got back to D3 after hearing the announcement of s29, i was recently not playing d4 s1 because i got so bored after like 2 hours, there’s literally nothing to do except buy shop cosmetics since you cant even farm anything cool and the overworld itself is just cosmetic anyway which is just weird since its supposed to be a live world.
Then i look at D3 and there’s like 30 more build options to play compared to d4, and the game plays like a real game and not like a piecemealed beta of 3 different games. Now we get SSF and d4 doesnt have that unless someone dupes trillions of gold that blizzard sees in the internal stats log yet ignores until it effects everyone else and then they add a temporary no trade sanction on the rest of us when they could have just banned the account that duped before they started distributing it.
but anyways, looking forward to actually playing a good modern Diablo game season. I just ordered a case of the dew, a case of my favorite cheeto paws on amazon, and resubbed to Amouranth.

pretty cool how D3 forums get pretty active when blizzard does new seasons. much different here than the disaster going on on those other forums all the time. even the D3 community is just better.

Hop in your time machine and see how the D3 forums were the first few months of D3V. D4 is a hot mess released in a beta state, the majority of us saw it coming a mile a way. Give it 8-10 years like D3, and it might be a fun game to play.

Think it is at the point now Vegas has odds on what point he will quit.
He preordered multiple copies, then quit several times before release. He then played at release only to quit again. Now he has evidently played the Season he wasn’t going to play, then quit again.
I’m in the camp of wanting ssf ever since the AH days, and so I’m going to play the season and beyond the paragon cap to show support to the devs. I mainly stick to crusader, and the gameplay that will dominate crusader farming that will consist of racing your horse from one side of the map to the other with only 2 skills on the bar for hours/days/weeks on end is not exactly engaging combat. Still looking forward to it though.

I think I quit smoking for at least 100 times. And “I will never drink again” has been stated many times. Bravata quit Diablo for million times? So what. Sh!t happens. Stop taking a videogame more serious than life itself.

BigRed/Davey often come to the forum with a rant about how awful a lot of players are (or some other negative issue), and when your attitude or opinion is criticised you complain about how toxic the forum is.
Unfortunately this statement is pretty much hopium at this point.
The forums over there are pure toxicity, in both directions. The moderation is some of the worst in the history of the internet. Entire threads get nuked. This system of community flagging is rife with abuse. The amount of posts and topics that get flagged to the point of being hidden only to find it being a completely benign statement is absurd. They will never get that forum into a productive place with these methods. Their only hope is it dies down to the point there remain fewer problem children. The ban system in game appears to have similar problems. Even if only a small fraction of the reported errant bans are to be believed, that’s way too many.
None of that even addresses the developer issues. It’s one thing to have launch issues or pre-launch issues but patch after patch after patch we see more problems. Decisions that have to get almost immediately reverted. Patches that don’t work and need hotfixing, and then often those need patched because the hotfix broke something. Even marketing doesn’t seem capable of doing anything without creating a PR disaster.
Everything involving D4 is just an absolute trainwreck and how does that get fixed. Similar situations have been recoverable in other games, but that involves taking a step back so you can address the problems. We’re not seeing that with D4. They have an aggressive seasonal schedule and 2 announced expansions in the works. Even talk at this point about D5’s potential development time line.
People act like he’s this horrible notorious troll who ruins everything, but the only times I really notice this person being “trolly” or sarcastic is in response to the people who show up to be mean to him for posting at all.
If you don’t like someone’s views that much you could either just laugh and move on, or use the ignore button?
And to think, people want to move to Reddit or discord where this stuff happens far worse. No dissenting viewpoints allowed! Downvote, bully and ban those evil heretics from everything!
