What is the best way to get an ancient legendary piece of Cains set? Is it possible to craft an ancient at the blacksmith? Do I use the cube?

Cain’s Destiny is used for it’s chance of dropping more gr keys. Since that set is usually put on follower, ancient pieces isn’t really important. But yeah, you would have to craft the ancient pieces.

You’ll probably want to craft 10 to 20 of them. The chances of an ancient that way is very high. The chances of a good ancient (depending on what you’re looking for) is not great, so it might take a lot of tries.

Farm lots and lots and lots of bounties. Rather than do all 5 acts, target the 2 or 3 acts you need for the pieces. In several of the bounty communities, I was able to get 2 or 3 other people to help farm the two acts I needed, speeding things up considerably. I do as Cavendar stated, craft 10-20 at a time. The odds of them being ancient is low and the odds of them rolling decent is much lower. Think last season (when I was crafting aughilds for my monk), I crafted over 200 shoulders to get a semi-decent ancient one.
No it’s not. It’s also used for stocking up on grift keys.
You’re mixing up Cain’s Fate and Cain’s Destiny. The former is for leveling only, the latter is for GR keys.

Wrong. Cain’s FATE is for leveling. Cain’s DESTINY is for GR keys.

You’re not getting it. There are two different Cain’s sets…
Cain’s Destiny which is a level 70 set…
(2) Set:
- Attack Speed Increased by 8.0%
- +50% Experience. (5.0% at level 70)
(3) Set:
- When a Greater Rift Keystone drops, there is a 25% chance for an extra one to drop. (Emanates)
Cain’s Fate which is a level 23 set…
(2) Set:
- Attack Speed Increased by 2.0%
(3) Set:
- 10% Better Chance of Finding Magical Items
- +50% Experience. (5.0% at level 70)
Crafting pieces from the Cain’s Destiny set can result in ancient / primal items.
Crafting pieces from the Cain’s Fate set cannot.
Cain’s Fate items are useful whilst levelling, due to the extra XP gained.
Cain’s Destiny items are useful once the hero is level 70 for the extra GR keys (which can only drop once the hero is 70).

Yes, Haedrig can craft ancient or primal quality items once you’re high enough level to get them to drop and/or have unlocked the latter, though as noted above you may have to craft several and they cannot be reforged in the Cube nor can you get one by upgrading rare.
