The goal for this to create a new item tier + few other additions. Why? To create a lot more group play and item diversity.
Epic tier = Double all stats. Allow 2 stat re-rolls. Require Pro tier (see below). Drop chances 1:10,000 legendaries in single mode, 1:8000 for 2, 1:6000 for 3, 1:4000 for 4. Only will drop same items you’re currently wearing + cube (1 out of 16). Will NOT drop in GR’s.
Since GRs are right now by far the most efficient way to level and legendaries, I feel like Rifts are only done for 2 reasons: keys and db’s, so in order to actually bring back item hunting parties, I propose the following:
Pro tier will unlock only when you clear solo 100 GR.
It starts at T20 up to T30
T20 = GR 100 (and others in between)
T25 = GR 125
T30 = GR 150
Bounty’s can also be done with increased drop rates…
Gems have 2 new tiers: using emeralds - 25 cubed of highest tier now = new tier with 150CD, 10 cubed of new tier = 200cd.
Increase GR to 200
Why implement this? Simple: It’s quick and easy to do as you don’t need new graphics, new assets, new sets, nothing of the sort…
This is not final, as there could be other additions, but basics are outlined.
Also I’d like to remind a couple other points. Firstly, the game already favors group play hideously too much, no need to make the gap between group and solo play any worse. Secondly, GRs are capped at 150 due to technical reasons.
So you want to introduce a new tier that causes even more power creep, and make the chances to get it significantly better in group games, which groups are already so much better than single player it’s ridiculous? No thanks.
Candidate for worst suggestion in the forum - and that says a lot. Another layer of rng + power creep + even more difficultty levels + boost even more group play vs solo. 4/4 terrible suggestions, well done.
Another one!!?!? Maybe in 2030 we’ll have “Ultra Epic Super Ancient Primal Items” that has 600x more stats than the original item!?!?? Lol.
This will not create more diversity… Just making whatever is current even more stronger.
Also why the T20,T25,T30s? Please no more Torment level, they should just rescale the rewards and difficulty with the ones we have. Instead of making it every 5 levels they could make it every 10 levels, thats way more easier.
I believe that people who suggest things like this want this game to be so easy they can play it by just clicking and holding one button while sleeping. This game is already mind-numbingly easy as it is. Stop it with the over the top ultra powerful uber superduper powercreep power-overwhelming suggestions.
PLEASE no more Torments. I am usually against any kind of squish, looking at you WoW, but D3 needs one. Really? Do we need 16 Torments on top of the other non-torment levels? NO!
Norm, Hard, Master, Torment 1 - 10. Even that is too many, but it’s better than what we have now. Again. NO. MORE. TORMENTS!
This change would bring back longevity to the game, it would also put campaign back on equal difficulty footing as adventure mode. They’d probably have to make it equal 9 instead though or make T15 max.
Oh it’d be so nice to play a season where I’m not catapulted straight to T16 after collecting all of the Haedrigs gifts… I might spend more than 1-2 weeks playing Diablo 3 before getting completely bored and just go back to playing Diablo 2.
Yeah, most of the torments are not even used anymore. I usually level on mastery and drop as I get higher in level for faster kills. When I get my LoD gem, I am automatically in T 4-6 depending on how many legendaries I find. Once it’s at L25, I am usually around T9-10. Once I get my set I am at T-16 or T-13 for faster kills.
