New HC player advice for campain

I’m starting a necro character in HC, on hard difficulty, self found loot.

I last played this game in 2013, played a wizard up to level 60.

So i’m basically brand new, but not new to these type of games.

I have one SC necro and one HC necro . I plan on levling the SC 5-10 levels then swtich to leveling the HC character 5-10 levels.

Since I’m new figure this will help me get a feel for what’s going on.

Have a couple of basic questiouns.
#1. I want to complete the campaign, is that a reasonable first goal for these 2 characters?

#2 My charactres are in the season, not 100% what that means.

#3. Once I complete the campain what should I be doing next?

#4. When I’m on a map should i be exploridng every area on the map and or dungeon? Or just rushing to finish the objective. In general I’m the type of player that likes to explore everytrhing and find everyting on the map.

I’m guessing that since I’m such a low level and have done so little in this game I’d be better off just trying to completle the objective and move on to the next one as quick as possible. Is that accurate?

Any general beginner necro advice for HC necro?

All the guides i’ve read are advanced and I barley even understand what they are talking about.

Any input appreirciated.

If you want to progress asap, then doing the campaign is not the way to go. If you want to optimise the process and speed towards endgame, then we can help you understand what the guides mean.

But if you just want to chill and have fun with the game at your own pace, that’s ok too. For that though, it’s hard for anyone to give you advice on what you will enjoy.

I feel like going through the campaign will be good for me to get comforbale with my class and HC in general.

I always like HC style games, but considering I’m basically a new player, and starting with HC, it seems lke learning the ropes via campain will be a good start.

Will I be able to easily transition out the campain to the adventure and other things when I’ve finished the 5 acts?

It’s fine to start with the campaign, it won’t hold you back later on, and you can move to adventure mode at any point. It’s a slower way to level up, but it’s good for just learning the game.

Yes.

Campaign Mode is good for the lore and learning the game mechanics. Adventure Mode is end-game content. The Season Journey is completed in Adventure Mode.

You already have 2 Seasonal Characters. Once you’ve completed Campaign Mode, it will be easy to just switch to Adventure Mode and begin completing the Season Objectives.

Note: You can earn a full free Class Set during Seasonal play. But, you only get one free Set per Region. So, if you collect it with your Seasonal Necromancer you won’t be able to collect one with your Hardcore Seasonal Necromancer.

The only way to earn 2 free Sets per Season is to play one Seasonal Character and one Solo Seasonal Character (Normal or Hardcore).

The campaign is worth doing for the story: if you pay attention it’s as good a story as you will find in any game, especially the act 5 story. Act 5 is also where you will find the side stories for the followers and the blacksmith’s apprentice. If I remember correctly there’s a specific point in act 5 when those are offered and it’s not obvious when they are offered. After you finish the act you won’t be able to do them. Worth googling.

As a method for learning a new class I would disagree with doing the campaign, because Adventure mode allows more control over the difficulty and the type of content. But it’s not like you are really hurting yourself doing one method vs another.
