Need help choosing laptop for D4

Option 1:
CPU Ryzen 5700U
GPU 3050TI

Option 2:
CPU Ryzen 4800H
GPU 3050
Personally I dont like this option: CPU runs hotter and GPU lower spec.

What are your opinion? Should I go for 3060 instead?

that look good enough… Recommended spec are still like 6 year old PC well under those specs! (typically Blizzard game are not very demanding)

Side questions to consider, do they have a large SSD? And RAM? And screen refresh rate and resolution?

These laptops have 512GB NVME SSDs but only the 2nd option one has a 2nd slot.

Memory wise, both have 2 SODIMM slots and am thinking of putting 16 or 32GB. Would this last another 4~6years?

PS. I agree that Blizz games are very optimized and run smoothly even on old machines.

The need for incessant upgrade is clearly slowing down… CPU has been good enough for a while…

In the last f, DirectX12 and almost real time photorealistic graphic is not quite there… but it is close enough and good enough now.

Yes this will easily last 3~4 years

Memory, I dunno… a few year go 4GB was luxurious and my PC ran fine then already! But apparently some game can be very memory greedy, or so I am told. Just to be safe I would go 32Gb if you could, but no biggie, I reckon.

Playing what? For a lot of newer games, those specs aren’t great. If you’re only going to be playing D4, then it should be fine. However, there is more to a computer, especially a laptop, than those specs. Biggest issue is cooling. Those specs are meaningless if the computer thermally throttles all the time. Also, how good is the display and keyboard?

Do you absolutely need a laptop?

I do not play fast pace FPS games; I only do Diablo turn based games and strategy.

The current gaming rig I have is an i7700HQ 1050TI 16GB from 2017.

Monitor, Keyboard: I use external.

True, I do not really want a gaming laptop for this. Maybe a Gaming Desktop then? I already have Monitor and keyboard; then just keep the old laptop for travel/mobility?

PS: I checked local market; gaming desktop of slightly better spec as the 2 gaming laptops cost just as much and without monitor/keyboard/mouse…

You are better off building your own. Better value plus you get to choose the parts.
