Need an option to change button symbols for controller

When playing with my PS4 controller on PC connected through the charging cable, I get the correct button symbol/prompts on screen in game (not sure about it’s correct name). But when I switch to wireless over Bluetooth all symbols changes to Xbox button layout.

Would it be be not too much trouble to add an extra option under controller setting to select your preffered controller button layout? If I’m to play the game on the Switch with Nintendo buttons, then have PS buttons when on PC when charging the controller, then have Xbox buttons when wireless using the same PS4 controller, I’m going to go crazy lol. Since I would be playing it on the Switch the most with a controller, I would then just set it to Switch layout on PC as well and live happily ever after.

Thank you for considering this. The QoL added to this game already is incredible, and this would top it off for me.

That’s strange. Are you using any extra software that converts PS4 input to xbox when on wireless? (ie DS4windows / Steam controller support)

I haven’t tested myself but i used PS4 controllers for a long time on PC before recently switching to newer Xbox controllers. In Rocket League i would get PS4 icons cabled/wireless so long as i didn’t use any input mapping software (DS4windows/Steam) and left the it all native.

What do you mean by symbols?

even if this were the case because of the lack of windows officially supporting ds4 like it does xbox (which i mean i get is for obvious reasons they benefit much more financially from one) having a hard toggle in game to just show whichever icons you want would be handy and i would throw in nintendo layout too for people who want to use those style of controller.

abxy , bayx, and x o square triangle.

Cant u change it in ds4 to pick what controller you have then it will change the symbols.

you can not specify in game which controller you are using and nintendo and sony controllers don’t work natively with windows in the same way Microsoft xbox ones do so people often times use compatibility that remap xbox function onto a sony or nintendo controller so things like rumble and analog sticks work properly.

Agree. Still be better if ALL games have a hard toggle.

Sometimes i was using my PS4 controller with steam support/DS4windows required for other games. And too difficult to turn on/off for specific games, so then i lost the PS4 icons :frowning:

But also understand why most PC games only care about xbox controller, its the default for PC. Hence 1 of the reasons i just gave up on PS4 controllers and just got new xbox ones.
