It’s a longshot, but if anybody can give me a power level, I’d really appreciate it.
You should probably state which Region you want the PL on. You have Characters on Europe and Americas Regions.
Much shorter shot to ask in general chat in-game.
I don’t even understand power leveling in this game. If it’s a first new season character it’s a challenge rift and get to lvl 15 in 10 minutes and do bounty bosses till u can make a flawless diamond and open the alter to all level 1 gear. rank up blacksmith etc and craft lvl 70 gear to wear. Put it on T6 and you’re level 70 within 30 minutes total.
If it’s an alt new character, use gem of ease and lvl 70 gear to level to 70 in 2.5 rifts or about 10-12 minutes.
I mean feel free to do what you want, but that’s some kind of lazy to need a power level in this game as it is these days.
As mentioned above asking in general chat is fastest way for the first character. For the second you need just a node in altar which reduces level req, bunch of legs and legacy of dreams.
powerleveling is literally cheating. dont let someone else ruin your season.
You answered it yourself, it’s faster. Why do it solo in 10-30 minutes when you can get a PL and get it done in 5min? You might find it fun to level alts, but others might not, so let them play the way they want. Real question is why people have this aversion to others getting help.
Anyway, I know the subject of PL is controversial, I don’t think it should be, but it is. The people complaining about PLs are usually inefficient solo players that hate others telling them how to play the game, and then tell others how to play the game themselves instead.
The people asking for PL, I think, are mostly people that don’t know how to quickly level themselves, so it’s not a 10min to 30min process that they skip, it’s many hours that they save. It is also people like me that simply don’t enjoy the leveling process, and want to min-max efficiency, so then you just get it done in 5 minutes. And I prefer chatting with someone in a group game rather than solo anyway.
So as usual, different people play the game in different ways. It doesn’t affect you, so accept, don’t judge.
I didn’t ask a question. I made a statement. I also didn’t say people shouldn’t do what they want. In fact, I said just the opposite. By the time you find someone to power level you and get the game set up and do it, I’ll see you at the finish line at 70 having already done it myself. And I’ll also feel free to call the charity cases lazy as I see fit. There is no leveling process in this iteration of the game, especially with a sanctified power.
Has nothing to do with playing my way. I just always see someone begging for a PL in chat and wonder what they do at the beginning of a season when no one is able to power level anyone. This game is easy, but you have to be smart enough to use the systems available to you.
Agreed. But there’s always people at the beginning of the season less than an hour in, begging for a power-level.
You’re not wrong to call these people lazy.
And the efficiency argument is bogus too. A couple of minutes in the course of a season isn’t going to make a difference as far as your rank on the leaderboard. Oh wow, you ran 2,876,354 Speed Grifts, instead of 2,876,340. lol
For every one of the leeches, too, someone trying to be nice has to stop what they’re doing and go help the helpless. I don’t ask for PLs so I feel no obligation to offer one. I do secretly enjoy it when no one answers one of the beggars in chat for a really long while and they start “No one can help me out? Bro!?!” Too funny.
These guys either never return the favor and are a total blight on the community they claim to be a part of or they do return the favor, thereby negating any efficiency advantage they felt they had. Either way, PL loses.
I had seen that GRs are for lvl70 only, so I wrongfully assumed that it’s the same for NephRs. So when I lvled my first and so far only alt (the WD for conquests), I followed the lvl1-70 guide from maxroll and went TotF. Oh boy.
So LoD and haedrig legs are more impactful/powerful than say 2 pieces from Sage’s Journey for +250 attributes and other sets?
legs is short for legendary in the context of his post. And yes, LoD even if the stats are wrong, say like using Legendaries you found on your DH to start a Wizard so they have Dex instead of Int, will get you to TVIII or TX right off the bat of reaching 70 which will get you one of that Wizard’s sets in quick order.
yep.
I thought you (or rather Player)'d craft legs from haedrig. That’s why I was wondering if some of haedrig’s sets like sage’s journey wouldn’t be more powerful than crafted legs from haedrig.
But that’s not what you’d do.
Sorry, I thought you meant Haedrig’s Gift legs. Sorry for my confusion.
But yes, LoD is better than say using Sages or what not.
But mentioning that, when I was hunting all the legendaries to fill up the cube on all the classes, on a couple, I crafted Captain Crimson’s and and Aughild’s and filled in the rest with legendaries from Haedrig and a weapon from the class I was running and was able to go TVI from the start and get to TVII or TVIII upon reaching 70 that way too but that’s due to having crucible to make a weapon Primal off the bat and having a few Wizard legendaries already in the cube.
So, you could do it either way depending on the season.
No worries. You have no idea how often I need to think twice or thrice before I get some stuff d3 related.
but that is only the case if you got some juicy legs in your stash which will directly help your alt?! NOT if you craft run of the mill legs from haedrig.
or maybe it works after all.
Something like Depth Diggers can be a big help. Plus you have other legendary gems like Simplicity’s Strength to boost a generator a build. In fact, I would start with a generator build on most classes unless I get some legendary with a massive multiplier to another skill.
But a generator build in most cases can get you the better legendaries for a more powerful build. But there’s lots of legendaries that have some sort of multiplier. Like Mantle of Channeling that will help a build get to a mid tier Torment level which is what you’re looking for.
All classes can use the cooldown boost of Captain Crimson’s and Aughild’s elite damage makes elite hunting a good strategy when your starting out in Grifts for some legendaries or set items.
I mean it works, it’s just that LoD can get you to the higher tiers faster, if you’ve got a few legendaries to begin with.
Consider this:
Legacy of Dreams increases your (multiplicative) Damage by 3.75% per Gem Rank up to 375% at Rank 99. It also reduces all Damage taken by 2%.
However, at Rank 25 the Gem’s secondary Power doubles the multiplicative Damage up to 750% at Rank 99 for every Ancient (or Primal) item you have equipped. And reduces all Damage taken by 4%.
So, if you equip all 13 of your items and they are all Ancient items:
Damage Bonus | = | 750 * 13 | = | 9,750% |
Damage Reduction | = | 4 * 13 | = | 52% |
And, even if none of them are Ancient or Primal:
Damage Bonus | = | 375 * 13 | = | 4,875% |
Damage Reduction | = | 2 * 13 | = | 26% |
Note: You can equip Set items as long as you do not activate any Set Bonuses. Which essentially means no two items from the same Set.
I’ve looked it up and saw some examples of generator builds. But could you clearly define it please? I’m still slightly unclear about what it is exactly. Just a build using a generator / primary skill? Or is there more to it?
I will!
I’m aware of your calculations and if my first char has used a LoD build as well, then this is all fine.
Although I wouldn’t assume ancient items knowing myself.
But if they were using a set build on the first, the LoD might still be at lvl1. So pushing the LoD to 99 would be time consuming. And don’t assume I would be flying thru rifts like a pro. I still don’t know the layout of GRifts by heart for example and still take wrong turns and need to backtrack. So we should take this time needed into consideration as well and I’m not sure (since I’m too inexperienced) if it’s still quicker in such a case.
You know what I mean?
There are really strong early game skills for easy leveling for every class. Those skill modifiers are easy to identify as they usually offer snowball effect for damage; either a resource sink, per enemy hit, channeled per second, else offer a chain of feedback for on kill benefits. Usually those Legendary items related to those highly useful skills have really low level threshold to drop too.
As long as you stay around Master, T1 and T2 difficulty, it won’t take long to reach level 70. You just need to ensure you have unlock the level requirement and longer kill streak nodes from Altar of Rites and equip either a two handed weapon or a one hander with shield and you’ll be set for anything. After that, you just roam the high density areas and look for kill streaks. That’s all there’s to it to reach level 70.
As everyone else said, asking for a power level in general chat channel would be faster to ask here without giving any detail about your main profile.
As far as I know, any build that doesn’t use a spender skill to deal the main course of their damage output usually called a generator build. Whether the primary attack generate resources or not, is irrelevant to the term.
Some primary attacks, such as Wizard or Witch Doctors, don’t generate any resources without some Legendary items (ie. Shame of Delsere, Mordullu’s Promise) or passives (ie. Prodigy, Vision Quest) integrated in their build but some of their builds use those primary attacks and get to be called generator builds.
I believe they’re referring to a build that uses a Generator for their main Damage dealer. Like the Demon Hunter’s Gears of Dreadlands build, which uses Hungering Arrow (Primary Skill) for the main Damage dealer.
Edit: Oops! @naksiloth beat me.
