I have not played since season 17 and I am kinda having some touble with a greater rift level 20. It is my last seasonal challenge, and I am playing a necromancer. Should I just go for strongest gear I find in other rifts, or stick with the set gear I have so far?
I assume you are only going for the first 4 of the season. I was able to do more with the LOD gem then the set I used for bone armor ( used that one for the set dungeon
I might go for the others seeing as while being powerleveled, we completed quite a few of them. So, what should I socket the LOD gem into?
Doesnt really matter now does it? I was able to pull of 20 without even really trying. Get the gem to like level 50 and you will walk through the rift. Also make sure you have all ancient items.
Kind of a noob here, but what are ancient items?
Ok ill see if I can explain this the best I can.
Diablo 3 has many kinds of items.
Normal-White items
Blue-Magic
Yellow-Legendary and Ancient legendary
Red-Primal (only available after you reach level 70 GR solo)
Ancient items are ones that need to be identified. They will say they are ancient legendary items. You get a bonus for having legendary items for the LOD gem and then its doubled for ancient items.
Ohhh haha, I’ve just been calling them legendary. I apologize, I just didn’t know the correct names for them. I just equipped the LOD Gem and quickly cleared through a regular Neph Rift, you weren’t lying! How many level ups for my legendary gems do I get at the end of grifts btw?
Yellow items are “Rare” items.
Legendary are orange.
Ancient items are Legendary items that can roll with higher stats on their Properties.
And Primal items are Ancient items that roll with perfect stats on their Properties.
No need to be full ancient. Ive done a 90 with mine using only 1 at that given time.
My advice is: do the Singularity build. Ive tried the Corpse Lance in two versions (Legacy and Pestilence ones) and theyre painfull without perfect gear.
For the mage one you can archiev a 75 with ease, whitout perfect items. The only thing that annoys me is the paper-defenses of the class, but when you get used its suportable and avoidable.
I wouldn’t say perfect. I have come across at least 5 primals in the last 3 days that only one was worth keeping.
But thanks for clearing the rest up.
I personally think the LOD gem makes for the best options in the game. If you empower it then I think you get 5.
They have perfect stats on their Properties.
That means the Properties roll with the highest number they can roll, not that the item is a perfect choice for your build.
Edit: It also means if you take it to the Mystic to enchant a Property, that Property will always roll with the highest stat.
Sure that is what they say. Cant say I really even noticed as I tend to ignore most of the properties as they dont over much for my builds. So you will most likely are right.
Just a heads up. The use of the emogi makes me almost completely dismiss when you said without reading it.
Welcome to the Childs list. AKA the block list.
Congratulations!
Keep in mind that:
- The first Power of the LoD Gem boosts your Damage as long as you do not have any Set bonuses active.
- Once the LoD Gem is Rank 25+, the second Power doubles that Damage for every “Ancient Legendary” item you have equipped.
- To get the same bonus you would get from the LoN Rings, your LoD Gem would need to be Rank 99.
If you successfully beat the timer in a GR, you get 3 upgrade rolls.
If you did not die during the GR, you get 1 extra roll.
If you empowered the GR, you get 1 extra roll.
So, if you empowered, didn’t die and beat the timer, 5 upgrade rolls.
I did it without dying and I empowered it! I’m so happy, and now I can continue on with the harder challenges! Thanks guys
Good luck and good hunting!
