Mythics should be the ONLY BoA

Snarky comment: D3 RoS took inspiration from Casino Royale where the best gear can be acquired by collecting mats and gambling for it.

To be fair, we did that in Diablo 2 as well. Gheed got a LOT of my gold. I NEEDED those Frosties.

I would excpect Ancient to not be Tradeable either. Well thats my preference. Anything remotely close to TOP TIER should be BOA

No, primal is just something little better than a legenday item, but Mythic have crazy stats, equivalent of all your equipment in one item. Over 6000 attack and defence points, wtf?

BoA & BoP rules!!! Play the game, not d2jsp.

If ya’ll got a problem with it, find another game to self-monetize.

*Eats Frosties*

A one time trade is more limiting than some are giving it credit and then when you add on top of that how rare mythic items will be, why should this even be an issue at all to just let them be a one time trade item as well.

I mean seriously one trade, thats it, its OFF the market FOREVER and stuck with that person. Just because its uber rare doesn’t mean we HAVE to follow some parallel linear category of open-trading all the way to non-tradable.

If you want the best gear, you have to go raid and are subjected to the same 2 hour limit with folks who were in the raid and on the boss kill list.

You need to understand that trade-hunting is a thing that was fun for many D2 players. It’s just as fun for players who enjoy hunting the trade market as it is for players who do monster hunting. In fact they compliment each other in many ways for the game. Maybe someone is tired of killing monsters for the last 5 hours or just having bad luck for months. Finding that person who has the item they want, and negotiating their items for that item with the other player is a fun social dynamic as well.

The social dynamic of these interactions can be enjoyable for many people. This is beneficial for the overall social environment for the game as well. You need to understand that this was a legitimate fun aspect of D2 but not only that it also provided a break from monster hunting for items.

This whole “if you want the best gear, go kill monsters for it” was NOT in D2. You’re applying external hostile game ideas that were originally foreign to D2. Keep that in the MMO’s, plain and simple.

That’s the problem right there. imho.

Why implement systems from an MMO into an ARPG? This is what blows my mind. Why do people conflate having open trade to just giving away free loot and/or real money trades? Do people actually enjoy having to vendor amazing items that isn’t useful for their class/build just because it’s soulbound? Or would you be more excited to be able to trade that item to someone that actually wants it in return for an item you want? An amazing item should always feel like an amazing item, and have high value, no matter who finds it. This is Diablo, not World of Warcraft.

Well… wherever it came from, it’s TERRIBLE.

Not everybody wants to d2jsp. People want to be able to trade freely with friends etc. I play Slash Diablo, that doesn’t allow d2jsp, and it uses runes as currency. Stop acting like people wanting to make money off of D4 is the only reason why they want open trading.

Sigh. You guys really hate anything that involves seeing other people huh? Lmao. If you want to gimp yourself, go for it. We don’t all want that. I played ESO which had BOP for dungeon items and it got dreadful running the same dungeon over and over trying to get a certain item with a stat that I wanted. Trading is a part of the Diablo games, whether you like it or not. Go play D3 if you want good items to not be tradeable.

Surely they can come up with a system that stops duplicate items in online play?

Trading is fun, provided the itemisation is good and everyone isn’t trying to acquire exactly the same stat rolls.

Mythics could be BoE rather than BoP? Or, just don’t put in restrictions, let everything be traded, don’t worry about third parties selling items - let the players decide what they want to do.

You’ve never played D2 and you only got to level 6 in POE(you told us this in clan chat). You clearly lack any knowledge on both of these games and your comments prove this. You constantly harass anyone that says the smallest positive thing about another game.

for sure. but it can only be one way. diablo 2 is living proof. even now people are trading away because items have value in the diablo 2 world.
Bind on anything is not the way to go.

You won’t have that longevity or feeling with diablo 4 if this model is used.

It wont be free trade, i promise.

I agree with you.
I play a lot of ESO and I notice that. Although we find a lot of people in the cities, it is possible to play alone. I think this will happen with D4.

Everything should be BOA. And this is why

Hell no.

And as for only Mythics being bound, it’s very possible that the best items will be rares with an added Legendary affix.
