This game really needs some love to be enjoyable with longevity on console. The frequent frame drops/ lagginess is atrocious enough but I want to list the things that can be improved with controller optimization. Some things are outright no brainer for what should be the standard while many others should at least be toggle-able options. I definitely noticed a distinct lack of customization options that would allow for more efficiency and playing the game how I want.
- First off, add mouse and keyboard support. Why not? Afterall, that’s how the game was intended to be played and it shows.

Why is there so much collision with objects/ environment??? Just being next to a wall is enough to put my character into a walk state or just stop me completely. It’s like the walls are made of glue. Catacombs was the peak of this grotesque system. It was so hard to walk through doors even at times where I carefully aligned my character. While fighting I found myself more worried about objects than enemies. On pc if you click past a door or object the game guides your character past it (and doesn’t force you into a walk state when near an object) the game should work similarly when pushing my stick forward and my character hits the corner of a box. This is by far one of the things that makes console/ controller play most unenjoyable.

Add loot scroll via right stick (like POE). It was actually surprisingly easy to grab the items I wanted by positioning my character but there are still instances where there are too many items to make that happen in a timely manner (especially if there is also a TP on loot)

Skill buttons: The 10 quick skill slots seems a bit excessive. Most builds do not need anywhere near this many. The only one I can think of that comes close is kick assassin. At least let me remap buttons for the sake of potion efficiency:
-
Potion buttons: Take another note from poe: Allow me to map a potion button to L1 R1 so I can use them while moving. Also, if I have 2 stacks of health pots and the first runs out, that button should then start using the next stack of health pots. This will help bring the necessity of using dpad for pots to a minimum while right now, it is at the maximum. The only time I really want to use a potion is in the dire heat of battle and that also happens to be the same time I don’t want to stop moving. Furthermore, allow marking favorite potion type for each slot so I can quickly restock my potions without having the buttons switched around. I see this really becoming a problem in higher end play when being able to quickly and intuitively using the intended potion can make the difference in survival.

I accidentally dropped so many items because the function of tap/hold square in inventory (thank goodness I wasn’t in multiplayer). I feel the function should be swapped (at least give me the OPTION).
-
In mercenary tab, why does holding x on inventory item equip to mercenary but holding x on mercenary gear swap with mine? Shouldn’t it just go to inventory? Why would I want to swap my gear with my mercenary. 99/100 my mercenary’s gear is worse than mine or specialized for them. I don’t want to have to tap drag items to unequip my mercenary. This really makes no sense.
-
Holding x repeats the action in many instances such as spending skill points (by the way please give me the OPTION to just tap x for that), however, buying potions I have to either spam x or press and hold over and over. What A DRAGGGGG.
-
BTW potion auto populate just straight stopped working at times.
-
Auto sort just throws everything together, which is great for reducing tetris play but can it at least try to put similar item types together?
That’s all that comes to mind right now, I’ll add more if I think of anything.
