My 3440 x 1440 res. is not showing up as an in game option what do I need to do to fix it?
Turn on GPU scaling in AMD Radeon software
There is a way to force the game to use a specific resolution.
First, you’ll need to edit the D3Prefs.txt file using Notepad (do not use WordPad as it will attempt to save it as a rich text file, causing issues later) in order to do so. It is located in the following location:
C:\Users\YourWindowsAccountName\Documents\Diablo III\
To force the resolution change, you want to edit the following lines:
DisplayModeWidth "1920"
DisplayModeHeight "1080"
DisplayModeRefreshRate "60"
Your file may contain different numbers, but you want them to read as follows:
DisplayModeWidth "3440"
DisplayModeHeight "1440"
DisplayModeRefreshRate "60"
Note: If your display’s native refresh rate is higher than 60, use that number in the third line listed here.
Make a copy of the file before making changes, so that if you mess up, you can undo the changes by simply copying your backup back into the same folder as the original, overwriting it.
You’ll also want to make sure there is a “0” in the following line:
DisplayModeWindowMode "0"
Attempting to use borderless windowed mode can cause issues when using custom resolutions since you’ll also need to specify specific values for the UI in their associated lines (this is not advised).
Once you’ve made the changes, simply save the file and launch D3.
The real disaster in this is the fact hes running a 4k monitor with only 60hz…thats a shame lol
Spend the extra 100bucks for at least 144…i mean you already spent allot for a 4k.
It isn’t 4k. It’s 1440p. Which, ironically, is the resolution that has the most refresh options. 4k displays with high refresh rate panels are ultra expensive and out of most mundane gamers’ budgets.
Assuming of course they even have an AMD card. You do realize there are more than one brand/model/manufacturer?
My question would have been this:
Was it working before, or did you change/add/ something, or first time you ever ran the game on this setting?
Are your drivers up to date?
For AMD based cards:

For nVidia based cards:

Do not go by what windows update installs, they are often behind a version or 3. If in doubt, use the latest WHQL version. (certified)
Suggestions provided by Tias above are also good, for manually forcing the card. Personally, I run mine in Windowed Mode Full screen, set with 1920x1080@144hz. But I don’t scale my desktop, its always at 100%. That’s using an nVidia 980 Strix coupled to a Predator gsync monitor. Old card but still rocks.
But that setting works for me. Not everyone has the same results.
Game on.
