Move / Primary Skill / Interact keybind

Why is primary skill lumped into a locked keybind with move and interact? I want to change my left click to say, E for example on certain characters but I can’t do this because its a locked keybind.

Why do they have to be together? Why can’t left click to move and interact be its own thing so I’m allowed to change the binding for primary skill to something other than left click?

Yup. I pray for this for like 8 years - still hasn’t happened. Maybe in D4 or D3: Remake

If you have a medioce mouse, or mouse config software, its not hard to swap around, but i do 100% agree it should be implemented in game.

I’ve always been a bit afraid if doing that. Blizz sometimes banned for 3rd party apps.
They should decide if they make good UI’s or not punish apps. I know they say some apps are ok but you never know and some ppl claim they were banned. Never wanted to risk that even with simple Hotkeys apps

Ive been using synapse (razers software that comes with their mice) for many many years through many blizz games with zero issues. Its just moving buttons. You can use macros but thats where you start getting into the gray areas.

Agreed. Both mouse buttons need secondary or even additional possible alternate keybinds. I hate using the left mouse button for anything except a long cooldown like wrath of the berserker on a barbarian. Using this button frequently leads straight to finger strain and carpal tunnel compared to using keyboard binds.

Yep I have mine set to teleport right now because otherwise I’d accidentally be clicking stuff like familiar etc and be wasting arcane power when it doesn’t need to be recast, it works but its inconvenient compared to being able to bind a key to the left click skill instead, and that necessarily wouldn’t work on other characters depending on the build. Totally kills my hands when I have something thats left click heavy, as if I don’t do enough left clicking as it is salvaging legendaries one by one -_-

I hated left clicking for anything combat related when playing D2 on and off for 10 years. My hatred for left-clicking stuff then carried on to many years of WoW, followed by coming back to D3 in 2014. This leads to use using left clicking only for NPC interaction or longish cooldowns. If I need to channel some skill while moving, then I use a combination of force move keybind and moving (not pressing buttons) my mouse. It is way more fluid to hold down force move and move your mouse where you wish, relative to clicking every damn time. I’m sure the mouse also appreciates being clicked thousands of times less.

Yeah, some of the builds that are extremely heavy in the micro management department I’m not a fan whatsoever, my hands can’t handle that anymore lol.
