I’m using a Crusader class in single player season mode. I’ve noticed that at random times within the game, doing a right-click causes my character to move to the clicked position in addition to casting a spell there. Most of the time a right-click causes no character movement, which is normal. I haven’t been able to determine a pattern here, except that the movement happens more often in intense combat. And after a bit of action, the right-click operation will return back to normal. But switching between these modes seems somewhat random.
You’re probably low on wrath… not enough to cast the spell.
The crusader will move if you don’t have enough wrath to cast the spell, unless you’re holding the shift key down…
You can try it in town…
Well, you’re right, right-click movement only occurs when my wrath is too low to cast a spell, and a shift press prevents that. But, to me, that action doesn’t make much sense, as only a left-click should cause the avatar to move. That’s unless the philosophy is that either mouse click should cause a move unless the cursor is over a monster.
When this happens, are you targeting a hostile object (highlighted in red whether Barrel or Monster)? And, do you have a melee weapon equipped?
If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then your Character is probably using a default attack and moving towards the target to get in range. Otherwise, I would agree with you that your Crusader should stand in place and just state, “I cannot do that yet”. (Or whatever Crusaders say when they run out of Resource).
You can test this by removing the Skill you have bound to the right mouse button. This can easily be done by binding a Skill you are using on another key to the RMB. Then, put the Skill back where you had it. This will leave the RMB “empty”. You could even remove your Weapon(s) and leave them in your Inventory temporarily. Finally, click anywhere on the ground with the RMB, not on a hostile object, and see what happens.
You could make a video capture of your test to include in this report to further support the issue. Whatever your results are, I’m not sure if it is intended behavior or considered a game bug. But, it certainly would help your case.
Good luck.
