Minimum Gons Needed for Solo GR 150?

Hey, everyone,

Currently, I’m a Meteor Wizard with 1510 Gons. Though my gear isn’t perfect, it’s not bad, either. The best I’ve done, Solo, is GR 137. What would I need in Gons to achieve Solo GR 150?

Also, at which point do I switch from the Guardian set to Aughild’s?

Finally, can GR 150 be completed with Cold Meteor Wizard?

Best!

I have only played the cold variant for high GRs. It’s hard to give an exact number of paragons because a lot will depend of luck with map, mob type, pylon spawns etc. The less power you have, the more fishing and luck is needed.
I was around 3.2K paragon before I started doing 150s. And then I could do 20 in a row without failing. I only failed one because I got stubborn and took too long time with some juggernauts and shielding champions without any help from a pylon. People have done 150s with less paragons than that. But I found it fun to grind paragon points running GRs in the 140+ range with help from the Altar, of course.

Can’t remember when Aughilds is better than Guardian… maybe I always used Aughilds for high GRs and Guardian for the more speedy lightning build?

Thanks for that. Mind you, I won’t be spending that amount of time to reach that Gon Level. I’ll, probably, switch up characters for varied game play.

Thanks!

Did my solo GR150 at P2020 with cold meteor. Others could likely do it earlier, as I’m not someone that enjoys pushing rifts and am not versed in all the little tricks and strategies.

A lot also depends on the luck of your item drops.

I’ve always used Aughilds. Never played with Guardian’s set.

With rift fishing, I did GR150 at ~1830 with my meteor Wizard.

On softcore, I played with Aughilds the whole time. On hardcore, I switched to Aughilds at 1500.

We are talking a seasonal character, are we not?

I’m almost 2000 paragon now and have nearly perfect gear on my Star Pact wiz. I haven’t been able to complete a 150 solo yet - but I’ve also not tried fishing for a good rift. I’m sure with a good map / good mobs & pylons it’s totally doable for me.

I’m just enjoying leveling up right now. I’ve been playing zDH for friends groups in 150s to get more paragons. These guys have like 8k paragon and we can finish a good map in less than 4 minutes, lol… :skull:

I reckon it’s doable at your current paragon, Star Pact is however quite a bit more unforgiving than Comet so I would go Cold instead of Arcane.

Yes, that is what we are talking about. (Originally, I typed ‘we are;’ however, this domain won’t let me post something with ‘less than twenty characters.’ Apparently, D3 is into overkill. Go figure!

True

Battlenet forums all have that requirement. You will see many post with a very short answer followed by a …Post must contain 20 characters. Well, to get back to your question, it can be done by you at this point if you really want to grind a bunch of keys (two hundred at least) and fish for the right rift and hope for good rng with the potion powers(very important). Just do not expect to get onto the leaderboards since it is a bit slow. I didn’t do it until I was 2k+ paragon, but I do not like fishing to the level that it requires to do it at low paragons. I did it with the cold meteor. I have since started trying the Star Pact and it is definitely more squishy, but with a little practice, more capable. Just have fun with it and it will eventually happen.

It is totally doable with the Paragons you have now. You also need to factor in gear, augments, skill, and the rift maps, so you might need to grind a few 100 more.

It is. Did mine with Cold Meteor with around 2400 paragon with pretty decent gear and 125 augments on all gear. Took me around 4-5 keys to get a decent map and finished in 12 minutes (think I got power and channeling pylons).

Could have done a lot earlier, but was grinding all the base gems up to 150. Never had a fail at 145-149 while leveling the gems while being around P2200-P2400.

Did my 150 on tal wiz at 1500 paragon, my gear could have been improved a lot though and done it earlier.

I did mine with the cold Meteor variant at around P1500-1600. Granted, I had mostly ancient/primal items except for my boots and ammy. I did have a crafted primal staff and everything ancient/primal augmented with a rank 125 whisper.

The GR150 took two attempts… first try I missed it by about a minute. Second try I got a good map (the diamond shaped weeping hollows one) and remembered Rax’s vid on the same map and the best path to progress through it. Finish in about 12min 15sec.

I haven’t attempted another solo GR150… I don’t enjoy pushing solo. I just wanted to lift my shards cap.

As for when to change from Guardians to Aughilds, they say around 1500-2000 paragons… depends on your gear, and augments of course. I made the change before doing my GR150 as I thought I had enough paragons.

Up to about 2300 with my GoD DH and I’ve only got up to 137 so far.

It’s hard to solo 150 with cold meteor at only 1500 paragons. You should try starpact, and you should be able to do it pretty easily. You can look up the leaderboards and see what skills and gears they use for starpact. Just copy them.

Just remember to go for large packs since you’ll get your mana back quicker. Gamble for a large map as an opener - field of misery, festering woods, battlefield, cemetery.

If you have a shield pylon, aggro all the mobs and hammer them down. Leave one pylon spot, to gamble for conduit. If you have a power pylon, gather at least 3-4 packs. But don’t over aggro, you might die, unless you have shield.

If you want to gamble a bit on the mob type, go for zombies, summoners, hulks, transformers, lacuni slashers and phasebeasts. If you open into ghosts, red spiders, goats… just rip it and make a new rift.

GR 150 on a starpact should be pretty easy for you.

Thanks, I appreciate that!

It’s not that bad, honestly.

I did 150 at ~1250 paragon in SC and ~1500 paragon in HC, cold meteors for both. Only a few keys for each clear (I think SC was first key, HC was <10).

This.

I was a bit over 1500 paragon in SC myself. The key is to compensate by augmenting with rank 125 or higher whispers and take advantage of the “craft a primal” feature if you don’t have a primal weapon.

And watch Rax’s video on how to effectively clear a weeping hollows tileset diamond map.
