Hey Blizz,
first of all sorry, english is not my native language so my post could be grammatical not correkt in pieces.
But i wanna talk about the Meta, what is since a long long time the sup monk and sup barb and the wizard with starpact in all variations with firebird,tal rasha and now the “bazooka” wiz.
For sure i enjoyed to play bazooka since it is very powerfull and rewarding to see how you oneshot trash and elites on 150.
But it becomes more and more boring espacially in non season, people are playing nothing else anymore, day in day out bazooka runs every day since months. And the 2 sup + 1 trash and 1 bosskiller meta since years.
Its to monotonous monk go there and stay with wizard and barb goes pull and pixel, bk try’s also trigger mobs a bit here and there to get it to the mainpull.
Its just to overpowered having a monk that can heal and give shield so much and a barb that can pull the half map in a minute.
No matter what your next sets and patches will be this mechanic will always be the best way to play this game and this is just anoying.
I guess alot of people would more like to play damagedealer then sup but they are forced to play monk or barb cause only 2 people can play damage or with the angels in the season there is even only 1 damagedealer lul. I guess it doesnt feel powerfull for the most of the people to heal someone or make a good pull on barb. It feels powerfull and rewarding to kill slay demons!
D3 has no dynamic anymore, nothing you have to react for its just stop the 4-5 usual spots on the different map layouts and pull everything there, feelsbad.
I would like if you all put your opinion here, if you like the actual meta or not. I find it way of interesting what people thinking about that. You are all welcome even if you disagree with me what is fine.

The never changing meta is why I no longer play this game for full seasons. The first week or two can be fun, but after that it devolves into rat runs or meta gem ups with the same group compositions minus one off meta speed comp (whirlwind barb this season).
This game needs a meta shift every season in my opinion, but the devs don’t seem to share that opinion. Sad because for a while I used to look forward to every new season. Now I just think “oh boy time to grind paragon using the same build for a week or two before quitting when the botters outpace me and take over the leaderboards”. This game isn’t fun to compete in anymore. Not like it was in the first few seasons.

I remember when perma stun wd was a thing in first seasons. And then 2 demon hunters with the blue lightning ball Skill of elemtal arrow with kridershot shot into the stunned pull. Was kinda same Business like now the mobs are Not stunned but cant give you damage because you got so much shield as wizard.
And back in the days blizz nerfed that because its lame game play but for me its the same like back in the days with the monk now.
I find it okayish how the sup crusader was. Dynamic game play. Kill elite and a few mobs run then blind and kill next elite. Thats okay i guess but this pulling to 1 point is always the same.

The game is 8 years old, it’s too late to care at this stage.
Its never to late. This meta is maybe 3 years old. And maybe d4 will take another 2 years or something until it will released. So why Not take away some survival skillz from monk and Pulk skillz from barb? For example, the damage Reduktion from innas sanc from monk reeduce the damage for teammates only for 5 seconds. After that you have to wait 20-30sec to use it again for teammates.
Problem atleast a bit solved. For barbs harpune Skill, why Not make Monsters immun to pull with harpune after 2 hocks? So you cant pull the half Map or elites the half Map with.
Its simple fixes which change the game style from lame hang in 3-4 spots per Map to alot more spots. And Monsters can hurt you. The same like with the sanc could be sone for ignore pain for barb. After your teammates get ignore pain they cant get it again the next 30 sec.
Its Just to Boeing to be Immortal and speedrun the highest Level 150 and dont habe to care about something. I mean nö brain needed. Its so unbelevable lame. Monk And barb give you so much toughness up to be Immortal and bazooka wiz macro is doing the rest.
I mean if you like simple games maybe solitaire is a good choice.

Exactly, put the emphasis on D4 use D3 as an excellent example of what to do and what not to do. D3 isn’t exactly dead but you cannot expect a lot of development effort here.
Its Not alot its changing like 2 or 3 skillz from monk and barb work. Thats a Job for 1-2 days and then the players have to think about what to do now. 
Well I hope you & the community get it, just not holding my breath, or getting my expectations on high alert.

I don’t over play meta, so it doesn’t become tiresome.
I feel D3 has been cast in the mold it works best already.
To change the meta dynamically would be to rewrite the game from where it is now.
The maps/builds/gear would have to be very different to enable another meta.
What I mean is this:
Any other meta with current game would be no more than a theme type feeling.
We need another game.
D3 is what it is, or can an old dog change it’s color and spots?
If you take out healer and puller, and everyone plays dps, then it will be way more boring than the current meta. There will be no team work, no coordination, just go in and press DPS buttons. Might as well join public GRs.

Thats kinda true, but atm there is also no teamplay required 80% of the time we even play without any voice or ping/flag spots in non season because its always the same spots in the Layouts and everyone knows them. I would personally like a bit more Action. For example if sanc and IP only work every 30 sec for 5sec for mates could be kinda interesting how the teams can handle that alot more movement is needed Not hang braindead on the spots. And it would be more good teamplay needed then now in 1 Spot you get sanc from monk kill stuff go and maybe if Position is good next you get IP. Would be alot more speaking needed.
But im also fine with it if you like that stay in 1 Spot.
What role do you play in a meta? You can try different meta roles and it might excite you with something fresh. For example, those who never played zbarb, once they start playing it, it’s a completely new and fresh gameplay style and keeps the game interesting. Also the same is true with RGK. There’s a basic level and an more advanced level of playing meta. How to play the map, how to scout. And I know many players who switch roles and it’s more fun that way than just playing all 4 DPS and smash the monsters.
I can play all roles im main wiz but play barb/bk also and really rare sometimes monk. But feels bad farming over 8k paragon and play sup 
The perma fear WD build was my favorite build to play. Competition was so much better back then since GR 60+ was respectable and paragon only varied by 100 to 200 not by several thousand like it does now. Power creep and lack of variety killed this game for me.

Right!? When sader was able to replace monk as a healer Blizz nerfed it into the ground for whatever reason. We need more options not less for all roles not just dps.

Yeah thats true.
If Blizzard finally nerf bazooka and we get another trash killer guess what will be his supporters? Ding Ding Ding correct 100points the heal monk and the barb. Boring atleast for me and kamekazzi.
For me as well. Every class should have a comparable meta role if you ask me, but that will never happen. I lucked out with WD for many seasons both as a support and trash clearer, but now no group would even consider that class.
True enough. If anything, they should make that every class can solo GR150 before they ended D3 development for good when D4 came.
There will always be META. The definition itself assured that. Most effective( or is it efficient) tactic available.
But if you balance more sets to be around 140 neighborhood, more DPS builds can be viable in higher push that isn’t far from META (2-5 GR levels differences).
I think all classes should be able to do support in meaningful way. Buff the support skills of other classes and have support focus legs. That will be cool.
E.g a leg or gem that grant massive defense (armor or DR) but your damage drops by 90%. So it’s easier to gear for support role.
