Hi there,
just wondering about the mechanic working on followers since some items simply would not work? I heard sometimes it would not proc even on players wearing it. Did anyone test it?

All followers should basically have the same gear other then the weapon. They are there to help you get things in the game. They really are not there to help you kill things. Yes on the lower levels they do kill. But on the higher levels they don’t.
They are there to help with Death breath, Key Stones, Gold, Shrines, Pylons, & even a death cheat to keep you alive. The only reason we have the follower that way. Because people were complaining about Keys, and death breath. So they rework the follower to help get things.

possibly working mechanic without some speech suggesting I don’t know any of that or suggesting my question being about a DPS-machine-merc! It’s always same nowadays, either that in forums or mass-back-seating on live-streams.
Obviously it’s not and obviously the item wasn’t linked on any merc build, some might still find joy to wonder and explore or try niche things in games - those who don’t just follow complete ezpz-guides strictly. But yea let’s not have fun in games.
